We will be at Universal this year during HHN.

My son (who will be 9 @ the time) wants to go.

Is there a minimum age to attend?

Do you think it is too intense for a 9 year old? He doesn't scare easily, but I have never been to HHN & I'm not sure what the do.

Any advise is appreciated!
;) :D ,

There is no minumum age. As for him, you said he doesn't scare easily, so he'll probably be fine. Fine if he doesn't mind seeing guys with chainsaws chasing him/you/anyone in sight.

Hey, my son is 8 and we ended up going 3 times! He had a great time, in fact, I made him walk in front of me in the PsychoScarepy house! Actually, I didn't MAKE him, it just ended up that way. If your son is into silly, scary things then by all means, indulge! It is SOOOOOOO much fun!

It can be very intense, but he will probably have fun!

I'd say take him if he doesnt scare easily. If he does get easily scared he wont enjoy it. My 2 oldest ds (16 &13) and I went this past year. Dh stayed in room with our 2 little ones (3 and 18 months). My 2 oldest really enjoyed it but I can say that my 13 yr old would not have enjoyed it all when he was in the 7-10 yr range.

My 12 year old daughter and I went last year. At first she was a little bit scared, but quickly got the hang of how things worked.

Do the Stay and Scream area so you're starting when it's light out. Plus you'll move thru the first house faster.

I showed my daughter the HHN video from the Travel Channel, and pics from IOACentral. Then I told her how a "boo scare" works so she was prepared.

My daughter and I took one lap around the park, making it thru all the houses, but then her feet we're tired and we left.
She enjoyed the foam bath near Hulk, and buying souvineers. She got a large coke cup with a lighted eye ball, and a T-shirt.

We just went in October for the 1st time. My youngest was 13, he had a great time but I dont think I would have taken anyone younger, it is intense!

Thanks for all the replies :p !

My son actually saw the Travel Channel Special & that's why he wants to go (I'm not sure I want to go  ).

But I will probably end of taking him so he can check it out, if it seems horrible, we will leave.

Thanks again for all the help!

When are you going? We're going in October too and we're hoping we're there during the HHN because my kids really want to go. I'll know more when they post the dates for the HHN.

HHN falls on every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of Oct.
As the month goes on, more dates are added. This year's dates should have a similar structure to last year's.
