We just went to DL over the weekend and LOVED the Halloween Haunted Mansion. Now here's our questions - is the Haunter Mansion in WDW decorated for Halloween? We've been to WDW for Halloween and now can't remember the building or the ride.

The DL Haunted Mansion is truly amazing and can't wait to ride it again next week!

No. WDW does not and has never done the NBC overlay like DL for HM. It requires weeks of closing the ride to install it and then remove it after the season. WDW does not serve the large number of locals like DL does.

No. The WDW HM doesn't, shouldn't and theoretically can't. The HM building looks pretty amazing for the MNSSHP, you should check it out sometime.

The only additional thing they do during MNSSHP is they add what I call the "grey lady" out in front to talk to guests. The night time lighting makes it a little cooler looking and the CM's get really into character but other than that nothing major changes about the ride at all.

No major overhaul but the CMs have full hair and make up done, Madame Leota is out talking to/yelling at guests and she is a hoot and they have a magic shot with hitch hiking ghosts which is cool

Her name is Madame Carlotta

I've been to Disneyland many many times during Halloween and although it's a cool looking building and is REALLY dressed up for the season...I hate to say it...WDW has a much cooler looking building even if it's not dressed up! I LOVE all the brick and the style of the building!

The Madame is very good. I think I stood there for a good 10 min listening to her which helped out cause when the HM was brought back up we were basically first in line.

It looks cooler on the outside, but the NBC overlay is second to none - simply amazing and so fun!

Thankfully Disney doesn't ruin the classic Haunted Mansion with an overlay. I think the idea that you have to "plus" such an attraction for Halloween to be flat out silly. Especially with something like NBC... Yuck.

The one at DL is so darn amazing!! I understand why they only do it DL but it would be cool at WDW.

Yeah, I agree with you there. I think WDW should do a NBC....If Disneyland can do it why can't they? people have to go a little while without HM so they can do the inside but they will live.

It won't happen at WDW because it is the most visited one time park for people. If you like NBC overlay you're going to have to go to DLR. I love NBC the movie etc but am one that is glad that it won't come to WDW.

Because a lot of people who go to the World are first timers or those who don't go very often. They WANT to see the original HM on their once in a lifetime trip, not some HM ruining overlay. Plus, that is a lot of time to take down an iconic attraction for no good reason.

The Land has a larger number of guests who are locals and who go all the time. They don't mind a change or it being close for a period of time. It also gives them a reason to come back which is easy for them to do.

From what I've read, puttung up and taking down the overlay adds a not-insignificant amout of wear and tear to the attraction in Anaheim. Glad they don't do it in Orlando.
