Halloween Decorations

Is there an official date when fall/Halloween decorations go up in the Magic Kingdom? We will be there August 20-29th and was hoping to see some fall decor at the tail end of the trip so I wouldn't feel so bad about leaving

They have to be up in time for the first Halloween party on Sept 2nd, but no guarantees before that.

Last year first week of September. Year before I think it was the 1st of September. Definitely by the 2nd this year.

When do the Halloween decorations show up at the Magic Kingdom? Since the first party is on September the 2nd this year, will I see Halloween decorations before that. My vacation begins in just 4 days, and my first day at the Magic Kingdom is August 30th.

Last year Halloween decorations started going up September 2nd, with the first party on the 15th

I would expect at least partial decorations on the 30th

They should appear any morning now, generally about 1-2 weeks before the first party... (and it's 8 days to the first one as of this post)

Last year they were up on September 2nd, 2 weeks before the first party.
We are now 1 week away from the first party, so expect them to go up very shortly

They went up a day or so ahead of the first MNSSHP on our trip a couple years ago. We were at MK on 8/30...ran in to do a FP on 7DMR. Main street had decor up and a few shops. We attended the first MNSSHP that season on 9/1 and there were a few more things up but I believe they were for the party. Such as fog and lighting etc. The decorations were not over the top but for sure made it feel special (even Christmas has been cut way back IMHO.)That said, it was our first time seeing WDW with fall/Halloween decorations and I love it. Halloween is my favorite holiday though, lol.

We will be visiting Nov 2nd-6th for the Half Marathon, literally right in between the end of Halloween and the beginning of the Christmas season (the first MVMCP is the day after we leave). During that time will there be decorations up for either? Lol I feel like we scheduled ours during a black hole!

Last year they were all setup on 8/30. Now some of the more fallish things around the different lands appeared prior to that but the wreaths, main street and the entrance appeared suddenly that morning. (Yes I was there, I actually have it in my trip report for sept 2015, see below if you care).

The day after halloween a great majority of them are down and dressing up the place for xmas has begun. (technically parts of xmas are in process of going up now, aka why the crane is back at the castle).

HalloWishes is only shown during the parties. Non-party nights will be regular Wishes

Last year the decorations changed overnight on the last party night (so November 1st was Halloween, November 2nd was Christmas)

With your timeline, expect to only see Christmas decorations
