Hi Everyone -

My family will be at Disney World end of October, and we are hoping to see the decorations at Fort Wilderness. If we book a Fort Wilderness carriage ride, do you know if we will be passing by the decorations?

Thanks so much!

Yes, I believe so. The challenge may be finding availability in late October.
Really appreciate it!

It does look like slim pickings currently. I saw one time pop up, which I grabbed, but timing wise it isn’t the best fit for us. I will just keep looking occasionally to see if anything better comes along, but good to hear we will likely be able to see some decorations!

I've camped in a loop close to where the carriage rides come through during a Halloween trip. The driver will take you through some loops. Many of the decorations are lit/lights so twilight or early evening would be the best time to see the decorations.

We just did this tonight and really enjoyed it. The route does take you through a couple of campsite loops and there were several sites decorated for Halloween. Our guide said that there will likely be more decorations next week.

Glad you enjoyed the carriage ride, @beesly.

Disney ain't no dummy. They know why (this time of year) people are booking the carriage (sleigh at Xmas) rides and they don't have to spend a penny on decorations because we campers do it (because we want to).

Sure 'nuff, the closer we get to 10/31 the more camper decorations there will be.

When we roll into November, the decorations roll over to Christmas setups and Disney carriage/sleigh rides continue.

PS - what time was your carriage ride? As in was it during the day, twilight, or evening (after dark)?

Thank you both - this is incredibly helpful, so really appreciate you taking the time to respond!

I would also be curious what time you went? So far I have only been able to find a 6 PM that would work for us timing wise, but thinking going later would provide a better experience…

We actually had the last ride of the evening, 9:30 - so it was completely dark. Most of the decorations seemed to be lights or light-up inflatables. I think the inflatables would still be fun to see during the daylight hours but I love decorative lights, so the late timing was perfect for us.

@Jgc014 I would keep checking for openings if you want a later time. I saw a lot of previously sold out “enchanting extras” that popped back up for this week as people hit the 1- or 2-day cancellation deadlines and decide to drop things.
