Can anyone tell me about your experience on the Halloween themed cruise. Is it fun & themed all week around Halloween or is there a break in between theme & non Halloween theme?

We did 3 Halloween cruises last year. Not planned that way, just wound up being on the cruises we booked.

Personally, I could do without the Halloween theme all over the place, although I thought the Halloween tree in the atrium was kinda cute. I didn't really care for all the "ghost host" announcements onboard that week.

While the decorations and some events were run during the whole cruise, the "highlight" was one actual "Halloween" day. More events, and costume contests. We spent most of that day in the adult only areas (where the theme wasn't quite so prevalent).

My kids weren't thrilled with the "Halloween" part of the two Halloween cruises we did. One was over actual Halloween in 2013 on the Dream and it was mildly exciting on Halloween. There was candy in the dining rooms and Cabanas had tons of cool pumpkins carved. But my kids (9 and 6 at the time) were beyond disappointed with the "trick or treating." The cruise was a surprise and my daughter made me promise never to cruise over Halloween again.
In 2014 we disembarked on Halloween day, which is how I convinced my daughter to give it a try again. We organized trick or treating with our cruise group and there was the pumpkin tree and a VERY crowded Halloween party in the lobby and that was basically it. Some decorations that were cute, too. The saving grace is that it's low season and we were on Fl resident deals both time. I wouldn't pay a premium or specifically choose a date just for the Halloween stuff, though. It's not enough to justify taking off work or school or paying more, in my opinion, if another time would work better.

We loved our Halloween cruise last year and we only wished there was MORE theming and events. We found it a tad lacking at times. Overall it was a fun addition to the trip. Add in mnsshp over at Magic kingdom to make it better!

I agree that if you can do MNSSHP, it is 100% worth it! We have annual passes, so I was hesitant to purchase a hard ticket for a park I could already visit, but I loved it! I'm going again this year.
