Thanks again Choc_marg for your kindness in sharing the beautiful dress with us!

Cheers!

Fingers crossed on a quick house sale for you Chris! Enjoy the rest of your visit!

Welcome to the craziness Sloopy!! Not that you didn't already have a pretty good idea :confused3

So, I have Samantha's pirate girl costume that she wore last year. She's outgrown it and if anyone wants a size 4-6 pirate costume for a girl, let me know & you can have it! Everything in this pic except the sword and cute little girl (not Samantha) is included. She's wearing it in the vacation photos of the Halloween Cruise website (minus the boot covers - she didn't like those)

Capt,

We sure do want a full trip report when you get back with tons of pictures...When do you leave on Friday???????????

I just switched from the 4 day Wonder (10/29) to the 7 day!!!!!
Because we are FL residents, we are able to get almost the EXACT rate for the 7 day vs. the 4 day ! (minus the $50pp charge for switching ressies)

So... It will take me a few days to read all of these pages so here's a few questions:

Are we still sending our info by the 15th to put together a list of all the DIS'ers on the ship?
Will there be a DIS trick or treat and if so, how do we join?

We have never done a 7 day; only 3 day cruises so I need lots of info.
It will be me, (DH is out of town) my parents; who have never sailed before, and DD's 3 and 5.

The 2 shore excursions we are considering are the "Under 2 Flags tour" and 12-metre Regatta. Am I crazy for thinking about doing this one? I have never sailed and the most exercise I get is walking across the parking lot to get to Starbucks.

Thanks!!!

Jennifer
WELCOME....Jennifer and family

We want to do the 12 meter but DD is not old enough.......If I remember correctly you have to be 12 to go on it. We will do it next time. I do not know anything about 2 Flags tour.

That is great that the residents rate helped you. We were better off staying put where we are.

The 12 meter regatta....

Holy cow! Does Dennis Conner lead that excursion in person? I hope you've got some seriously grippy shoes on that boat. I'll watch, thank you.

Yup!!!

It's actully Dennis COnners' 14th cousin on his auntie's neighbors' side, "Hard Tack Billy" and his spouse, "Plentiful Percy, the Plunderin' Peach" who run the 12 meter Regatta! The footage above shows Billy and Percy when they managed to hightail it outta San Diego with the Stars and Stripes! Fortunately for John the USCG cutter Clarabell, a converted zodiac lifeboat was conducting driftnet fishing trials off the coast and ensnared the Stars with Billy and Percy before they made it to Ensenada Mexico where they had a buyer ready to take the Stars and Stripes away for 52 barrrels of rum. And of course, the ultimate buyer of the "fenced" Stars and Stripes got clean away... a shadowy figure named (reputedly) as Bloody Captain Crash.... arrrghH! pirate: No relation, of course to your's truly.... the similarity in name is purely coincidental. And those are NOT my pesoes stacked in burlap sacks by my washing machine. No, I do NOT launder Pesoes 'round here either!

So anyway - back to the Stars and Stripes... John Conner let his 15th * cousin, Hard Tack Billy go without pressing charges, being that he was family an' all... or at least he let them go after the kangroo trial and summarily walking the plank into San Diego harbor... where he and his sometime side kick, Plentiful Percy, the Plunderin' Peach got clean away in John Conners' Convertible Corvette Coupe... which was conveniently parked 20 yards from where the nefarious two swam ashore. Oh yeah... they had managed to pick-pocket the corvette keys from Mr. Conner just as they gave last hugs before walking to the end of the plank... just before Mr Conner poked them with his saber to make them jump off the plank!

Sad but true... and now they run a 12 meter regatta thing taking out a dozen or more patrons - returning with 6-8 who survive the ordeal and prepaid the standard bribe on boarding... What bribe you say?..... why, a 750ml bottle of rum per soul of course!

And Kristen...

.. you got it! I'll slave over an appropriate Trip report of stupendous scale on my return. Complete with a scatterring of my most out of focus photos of the neighboring cruise ships we see while docked ... and their wispfully onlooking crews and patrons! Ya know they all gawk when the magic pulls along side within gawking distance. Heh-hee-heh!

gawk.gif

* Hard Tack Billy gets reclassified as one more generation removed with each pirating failure he gets convicted of! Hence he shifts from being a 14th cousin to a 15th! :rolleyes1

Terri....

... thanks for the encouraging bon voyage in advance. We don't fly until friday nite - a harrowing RED EYE .... was all we could swing with the last minute changes. But we'll manage. We just booked our hotel on hotwire - and got the Wingate at the airport for $46+$12 in hotwire fees. This compares well against the other on-line booking rates which seem to hover around $78-80 + tax and fees. SO I figure hotwire saved us about $40. But - of course - I had no idea which 3 star hotel I was buying when I booked.

Awwww....

.... shucks... there's nothing to be jealous of. We're all doing the same thing with the "Mouse". I'm no more or less concerned with the folks that are on the pricey MED sailings. And I would honestly get the same blast out of a 4 day sailing. Now, 3 day sailings are a little too short for my tastes unless I get them dirt cheap!

Ok... gotta run now....

TTFN!

My kids got the haunted shirts tooo....

Crash,
Sounds like your hotel was a great deal....A red eye boy you all will be tired when you arrive...But you will have fun....Can not wait to hear all about it when you return......

Even if you don't sail, you can sit back and enjoy the ride or be assigned the all important task of handing out the beers after the race is over. Every boat needs a little deck floss!! /) /) /)

We were on the 2nd page!!!

Ok, so I am gonig to do the Regatta. :boat: I guess I'll be handing out the beers! :drinking1

Is there a DIS meet scheduled yet?

Also, if anyone has early seating and wouldn't mind switching to late, please let me know. My parents are going to have a hard time eating so late (you know seniors; they like to eat dinner at 4pm!)

I have a ton of stuff for the trick or treat. I too am always picking up more. We were at Costco last night and they had a big pumpkin filled with 60 bags of Halloween pretzels for $5.49! I put them in the cart and Tim started to get on me asking when I was going to stop by for the cruise trick or treat. He said I have too much stuff. I told him I would give them to my daycare kids (I always make goodie baskets for the kids at holiday time) I said my Dad could use the remainder in his cruise trick or treat bag. I have started giving them my trick or treat surplus! I always love me gift bags for all the kids!

Yeah!! I'm so glad it made it. With time to spare too!

That is adorable on her!!! Thanks for grabbing a quick shot. That isn't Samantha. That is just the ad pic. ySamantha is wearing that same outfit in the photo gallery on the halloween cruise website Kristin & Heather pulled togther. So, I have no idea how to get the skirt to flare out. They probably used a petticoat.

Heather,
We had lots of extra goodie trick or treat bags left over on our Halloween 2004 cruise. So I handed them out to The Disney Castmembers on the way to dinner. I also handed them out to kids on th eway to dinner too. I also made special treat bags for my room hostess and waiters as well as dinner mates. It was sooooo much fun. Everyone I gave a treat to was thrilled, especially the Disney Cast Members. We also decorated our room and door for halloween. We plan to do the same this year. I have one suitcase just for Halloween treats and decorations.
