DH and I will be celebrating our 16th anniversary on Halloween.:love2:
We normally do WDW, but decided on a cruise this year. This is my second cruise (1st in 1982) but first Disney cruise for both. Looking forward to meeting other DIS'ers!

Kristin,
Sounds like you had a well-deserved rest. Glad you had a nice time. Did you get your reservations made?

Thanks Deanna,

I got the kids signed up for the kids club. But did not sign up for or try too for Palos. My husband does not care if we do it or not...and I am not a huge breakfast/brunch person so not really worried that I will not be going there...

How about you..?????

I did not need to book any excersions since our friend who lives in St. Thomas will be taking care of us while we are there...

It was a much needed rest and the kids had a blast playing on the beach all day.. The weather was perfect....

Here are some photos of the kids at the beach..etc...

Welcome to all of our new posters......

Hi Cathy,

I have some kids close to the age of yours.

Patrick (10)
Rebekah (8)
and two younger kids.

We are telling the kids tonight and I am telling the two older ones that they might be able to email some other kids going on the cruise.

I am sure that we are going to have a wild night tonight!

Chris

Oh my gosh tell us how it goes!!!!!!!

Love the pictures Kristin! Looks like you had a blast!

Chris,
Let us know how the kids reacted! I am sure they will be so excited!

ArmandXG.........we will be celebrating 16 years of wedded bliss this year too! We had a Christmas wedding though so you beat us by a couple of weeks. Congrats...what a fun way to celebrate. We usually get a night away at a fancy hotel in our hometown because it is Christmas and we are super busy. It is a major downfall of a Christmas wedding!

We are off to Cedar Point for a couple of days this morning, should be fun. Lots of family and friends going up to the lake for a few days of R &R before school starts next week.

Buck.....still on for next Sat., let me know if anything changes.

Have a great Sunday all.

Missy

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend...Chris what did the kids say?????

I'm still planning on it Missy. I'm really looking forward to it!

Hope you have a nice time in Sandusky. Great day for CP. The weather is just perfect!

Kristin-We just booked tours for excursions, and signed the kids up for club/lab. I didn't get into Palo either.

Buck,

what excursions did you book???

We opted for these excursions:

5-Star St. John Snorkel & Beach Adventure (ST-04)
Board the 115-foot Leylon Sneed and cruise from St.Thomas to Trunk Bay on St. John in a one-hour water ride. Once there, snorkel and swim in the crystal-clear turquoise sea, and sunbathe amidst the stunning surroundings of St. John National Park. Find the rest and relaxation that only the Caribbean can deliver.

Island Drive & Explorer Cruise (SM-05)
Surrender to the sea, shore and more on a scenic bus ride to Simpson's Bay lagoon. Board the Explorer for a 30-minute Caribbean cruise to Marigot, the French Capital of the island. Once there, savor the mouth-watering French cuisine and shop for souvenirs before your return by boat and bus to Phillipsburg, the Dutch Capital.

At Castaway Cay, we prefer to just lay on the beach like driftwood. :)

Does anyone know the website to find out which ships are in our port with us? I'm curious, and since moving, I've lost all those great bookmarks...

In the past, we've booked with outside tours, but I just don't have the time to research them this go 'round, so we're sticking with Disney. Plus, we'll have my mother in law with us, so we need to take it a bit easy. :) We've really enjoyed St. John in the past, I'm hoping to someday spend a week there...but we'll have to settle with visiting for mere hours for now...

Kristin, the girls are beautiful! You've taken some stunning photos.

Talk to ya'll soon,

Sherry

http://cruisecal.com/ will tell you what ships are in port when we are - or you can just read the post where I copied the information here. Also, just before we cruise the schedule, including docking locations, will be released and posted on VINow Cruise page.

I'm with you on the driftwood thing. Although we had a ball doing the Stingray excursion last year. But, we'll just occupy some beach space this year.

Speaking of excursions... Somebody on CruiseCritic posted all of the research they did on probably ever known excursion known to man (or woman). They spent a LOT of time researching and the documents are pretty long PDF files. They are full of links and copies of reviews from CruiseCritic. Here's the link: http://bestbuds.xoompages.com/

I will need to make sure in Disney we take some family shots......

Great links Awoltoday! I was just telling Tim last night I need to find that website that tells the docking location. I hope we get to dock and do not have to tender. I also loved the review site. There is a ton of info there! Thanks for posting.

I haven't noticed WHEN they update the VINow page, but it does say "Schedules are released monthly during the last few days of the preceding month." Since we aren't in St. Thomas until Nov 1, we may not find out what the locations are until the very last minute! That's a little disappointing for compulsive planners (aka DISers)! But, I did find something that said that HAL usually goes to Crown Bay, which improves our odds of getting a Havensight spot with 2 HAL ships being there that day. And the NCL ship doesn't arrive until 11:00AM, so hopefully they'll get leftovers. But, with 6 ships we shouldn't have to tender in since each site can handle 3 ships. I'm feeling much better about the whole 6 ships deal. I'm guessing that there might have been that many last year when we were there and I just didn't know it since we never went to Crown Bay (There WERE 3 ships at Havensight). Traffic DID stink when we were trying to get back to the port, though.

I found the "best buds" information to be a bit overwhelming! It does seem to be pretty comprehensive, with 19 pages of links & information on St. Thomas!
