We have the family 4 kids ages 8,6,5, and 1.5yrs and both sets of grandparents staying at BCV and BWV. The plan now is wear costumes and head to EPCOT, DHS and BW area to just have fun. It appears nothing is going on besides the MNSSHP at Disney on the 31st. I know AK has something small but they close at 5pm and NO MORE DTD (which sounded like a disaster) and FW (which is intended for them only).

We did MNSSHP last year and had fun but for the size of our family at $65 ish a ticket AND we have annual passes...........sorry that just isn't going to happen this year.

We are open to ideas as this is the 1st time over actual Halloween we won't be home. Did some searches on the forums and seems like the only things going on is what I mentioned above, and no we are not driving to an offsite event. Wonder if DVC, community center or something else low key is going on that I have not seen yet?

Thanks

Last year, I was at Saratoga on Halloween day and there was trick or treat there. We could personalize our bag at the community hall and then, there was a map with several station, on the resort, giving candies. There was also other activities Halloween related.

I imagine there is something like at each DVC.

On Halloween BWV has a wonderful party on the Village Green. They have a DJ who does lots of fun dances for the kids, most of the kids are in costumes, there have been characters for pictures in past years, cookie decorating etc. It's really fun. It would be a perfect evening for your family

That sounds perfect and exactly what we are looking for, hope they have it this year!

No more trick or treating in DTD? Wow, that would be a shame, we have enjoyed it in the past.

The Deluxe and DVC resorts will very likely have something, but will not advertise it much due to it being limited to guests of that resort only.

Which for some reason is something many people just can not seem to grasp and yes they cancelled Downtown Disney due to it being a mob scene too.

most likely there may be something going on at your resort. We stayed at the BLT last Oct. 31 and there was T or T for the resort guest at the CR. There were candy stations all around the concourse. We had little ones and we arrived that day, so it was nice to let them do a little T or T. The folks at the CR even gave us the bags. I don't know if there were other activities as we had arrived just hours earlier. Most likely there may be something going on right at your resort.

We've gone to DTD twice, once on the 30 and once on the 31st. It was crowded on the 31st, but I wouldn't call it a mob scene. Our DGC were about 4, 5 and 6 and they had a very good time.

Was this last Halloweenn?

The Boardwalk community hall has activities on a daily basis and it would be hard to imagine they won't do something special for Halloween.

We will be there during Halloween this year as well! Haven't gotten a costume yet for my 19 month old so not sure what we will show up as.. ;)

But chances are, we will see you at the get together!

We have a 15 month old and we have not got her an outfit yet either. We will have a Ninja Turtle (5yr old boy), Capt Rex (6 yr old boy), and Alice in Wonderland (8 yr old girl) so if you see us come say hello! My inlaws are at the BWV and the rest of us are at BCV so I hope between the 2 resorts we will find something!

No, I'm guessing 3 years ago was the last time we were at WDW (and DTD) for Halloween. We had so much fun, we decided to do it again this year. The BWV party was fun, but we did both BWV and then DTD. 2 years ago we were in HHI, they had trick or treating on property.

From what I read on the boards is last year was just insane, people waiting for over an hour for a piece of candy. You couldn't move and if you did happen to want to shop you couldn't get in any entrance. These comments seemed to be pretty universal from last year and I don't remember seeing a positive comment about it. All the positive comments seemed to be from people who went in previous years.

Keep in mind this is ONLY WHAT I READ - no personal experience with the event!!!!!!

here are some past pictures of BWV little holloween party , they have a DJ, make a cookie , about 3-4 tables with tiny arts and crafts for the kids and my favorite a meet and greet .

I was DTD last year, for Halloween, and there was so many people !!!

There was looong waiting line at each station, not an hour, but very loong...

And this is not like the MNSSHP, you could wait 20 minutes just for one lollypop !

But is was fun !

We'll be there over Halloween as well! DS5 will be Captain America and not sure what DS2 will be. I sure hope they have something at BWV! I was so bummed about the DTD getting cancelled and this is our first time at Disney during Halloween.

For those of you who are at a resort on Halloween, be sure to get that resort's schedule. At VWL the year we were there, there was a time in the afternoon that the kids decorated goodie bags, and there was a parade through the resort. All of this was before 6PM.

I didn't know about last year's crowds at DTD. The year we were there, we actually went to DTD on the 30th and 31st, the kids were young and it was lots of fun, but I do remember that it poured and poured one of the nights.

I can't believe the MNSSHP prices for that weekend!:scared1:Next year, we'll plan on going to WDW with the DGC and family another weekend. We planned to go to DTD for this 30th at the 11 month mark, like all good DVCers!;) Well, at the time the DGC still lived in Boston, and so much has changed in this year!

I know this is a late follow up but BWV had a great halloween party. Smoke machine, DJ, Dancing Mickey and Donald...and trick or treat stops.

It was perfect exactly what we hoped for and the kids had a blast. The CM did a great job. Not to busy it was just plain perfect!
