My Family And I Will Be Making Our First Trip To Universal In Oct This Year!! We Want To Experience Horror Night, But Are Not Sure If Our Daughters Are Ready For It. They Are 8 And 10, And Love Any Horror Movie Made! We Have Tv Guardian, So They Are Allowed To Watch Gore And Thrills, As Long As There Is No Nudity (and The Tv Guardian Takes Care Of The Profanity!) )i Always Enjoyed Scary Movies As A Child, And I Do Not Want To Warp My Kids By Allowing Them To See Scary Movies-- But I Do Understand Why Thy Love Them). That Said, Are They Still Too Young For Universal's Brand Of Frightfest, Or Can 2 Reasonably Mature 8 And 10 Y/o's Handle It? What Is The Youngest You Have Taken Your Kids? Thanks For All Advice!! They Really Want To Go, But I Don't Want Them Scared To Death All Night!!

I'd rate HHN as PG13. there are adult overtones, but the overall feeling is more fun than scary. are the effects realistic and over the top. yes. fake blood and gore? you bet. people trying to scare the heck out of you with chainsaws or anything else they can use? oh, yeah...... :D universal takes it to the limit. if you're supposed to be in an asylum and there is poo smeared on the walls, they pump poo smell in the reinforce it. my daughter is 11, and she finds it more fun then scary, but she still gets scared. 8 might be a little young. but not all of the houses or scarezones are as intense as others.

this is why this event rules. we're talking about it in January. :D

My daughter turned 11 on Oct. 14th and knows what to expect at HHN. She was planning on going for her birthday and to make her feel a little more comfortable I was going to reserve the VIP tour. After talking to her 16 year old brother she chickened out. I'm glad she did because we went without her and there were entirely too many unpredictable drunks to expose your children to at this event. Take them to Mickey's Halloween party instead.
We were just in Orlando and watched "The Saw" on pay for view and I was scared!

My 9 year old really wants to attend this year. So I plan to hit Universal's Halloween party maybe 2 nights. I have a 2 year old and plan to stay onsite so that either my husband or me can stay at the hotel with the little one while the others attend the party. We also plan to do Disney's MNSSHP on Halloween and 1 day at Epcot for the food and wine.
Does anyone know what days Universal's party is usually on?
