Probably the most important thing to know - it is free. No paying for an extra ticket like certain other parks. It is on the 4 weekends in October from noon until 8 PM.
They will open the Bayside Pathway at noon, and much of the events will take place along there.
Bayside Stadium has a party zone, with music, games, and characters. Everything is geared towards the younger crowd. There are trick or treat stations along the pathway, curving around Shamu Stadium, and going almost as far as Nautilus Theater. The candy changes at times, but there are "name" brands like Junior Mints and Tootsie Rolls and Twizzlers and then some brands that while I may not know, the kids might be all into, such as Black Forest Gummies and Airheads. They generally will have bags to use for trick or treating, and you do not have to be a kid or have kids to get goodies.
There is a special Halloween show starring the Sesame Street characters that will take place where the Pets Ahoy show normally occurs. It is a cute show, and I don't believe that any knowledge of the characters would be required before seeing it. There is also a new Dine With Shamu Brunch that will happen, I don't have a lot of info on this since it is the first year, but I understand you will get a photo with a special frame, a cookie decorating kit, and a trick or treat bag already filled with goodies. This happens at 10:30 on Saturdays.
In the past they also have had a cookie decorating area, where you could purchase a large cookie and decorate it yourself. I am not sure if they will have it again, but since it is being advertised as part of the Dine with Shamu, they must be.
New this year also will be a special area just for Pass Members, it will be in the Ports of Call area and will have some candy available only in there. It is going to be held only on select weekends. If you attend 2 or 3 different weekends you will also receive some other special items.
