We currently have reservations at FW from November 2-9. We really want October 29-November 4 (for daughter's school schedule and also Jersey week being the week we are currently scheduled), but the weekend nights for that Halloween weekend are full. We are considering staying at another resort but we can't hardly bear the thought. I realize we aren't even in September yet. Do we hold out hope on a cancellation? Is there a possibility that the site upgrades will be finished early and the loop that is closed until the 31st will open up early? Do we double book? (Is that even allowed?) Or if those dates (Oct 29-Nov 1) become available, will they easily let us combine/shorten our current reservation?

After searching through the word "cancellation" on this board, I realize that many of you have been in this stressful situation before. I think my September will be spent on the phone with Disney.

I would keep calling daily up until Sept. 18, since that is the 45 day cancellation cutoff for Nov 2nd arrivals (for folks buying packages) and probably check-in occasionally after that right up to the 7-day cancellation window (for non-package guests). I might even call twice a day as the 45-day mark approaches, expecting folk to want to hold on to the dream as long as possible.

At the risk of fanning the fury of my fellow fiends, you can certainly double-book, but for the sake of others try to consolidate and release unneeded days as soon as possible. Disney will allow you to use days from two bookings to combine into one.

Here some Pixie Dust going your Way!pixiedust: pixiedust: I hope you get what your looking for! I would not be surprised as time gets closer that there are more cancelation.
Good Luck and keep trying!

I am kind of in the same boat and have October 19-24, but need to add 24+25 to my res. I have been calling daily but to no avail. Any thoughts on if checking the website is enough or if I should continue to call every day. I hate to keep calling if the website presents the same information I would get if I call.

Thanks, first time post but I have been lurking on here for years now. Great wealth of information and community.

I find the website does present the same info, it just cannot be used as far in advance.

I went through the same problem recently when I was trying to book a two week trip over Halloween at FW. I was able to first get a reservation for the first 5 nights of our trip and the last 5 nights, but not for 4 nights in the middle. I took the 10 days I was able to get and then made sure to check the website every morning at 7 AM to see if I could get anything. Over the course of several early mornings I was able to get the other 4 nights. Here's what's interesting, if I was only checking for 1 night a lot of times I was told no availability, but if I checked for a 2-4 night period (esp. when I included October 31st) I found more availability. Get creative with what you're looking for. Play with the number of nights (try different combinations). My husband swore there was no way I was going to get those 4 nights, but I just kept working the website until I got them. I really think you need to get on around 7AM (EST). Good luck and hope to see you there for Halloween!

Thanks for the info and encouragement. I am sending an email to Rhonda as soon as I post this!
