Hi,
We changed our reservations and now will be spending Halloween at Disney World. MNSSHP is already sold out for the 31st. Does anyone know if they have anything else going on on the 31st? My 8 year old is bummed that she will miss trick or treating. Do the resorts do anything? We are staying at POP
Thanks,
Crystal

Hi
We spent Halloween there last year and are doing the same this year. My kids were a little disappointed but not too bad. We all dressed up and went to MK for the day. We got quit a bit attention and I was surprised how few people dressed up. I think they were saving it for the party. About 3 we took off our costumes and headed over to AK which was AWESOME, there were no crowds and we practically had the park to ourselves.
The kids missed the candy (ok I did too). So this year DD15 is making little goodie bags to give our other kids, she is so sweet she bought it all with her own money. We also made a ton of goodie bags to give to other children there. No candy, just little toys. So keep a look out for us!!!:yay: We will all be characters from Peter Pan, you can't miss us we are a family of 8!
I hope you have fun! I think you will. Maybe you can make her a little goodie bag and leave it out Halloween morning, then she can have her candy.

Call the resort directly, they are probably having some sort of event with candy! I am staying at ASMu and when I called they told me they are having a Monster Mash Dance Party and giving candy to the kids.

Also, they have trick or treating at the stores at DTD but I hear that gets VERY crowded.

I read somewhere that they do Trick or Treating at Down Town Disney, I'm not 100% sure about it tho,

We are planning to go next year for Halloween, we are doing MNSSHP, but not on the 31st. We will do MK durrign the day and then hopefully trick or treat at DTD, atleast that is my plan :)

They do trick or treating at both Down Town Disney and on the Boardwalk. I believe they start at DTD at 5pm, but I can't swear to it.

We will be at Disney over Halloween too, and we are doing Mnsshp on the 30th, and trick or treating at both the Boardwalk and DTD on the 31st. I've heard that the Boardwalk gives out more candy:banana: , so that is where we will finish up at.

Have fun!

Why not do MNSSHP a different night? Then the kiddos can still dress up and go trick-or-treating. We bought tickets to go on the 30th.

You might also want to just inquire on Halloween day if there any tickets left. Sometimes corporations hold a block of tickets aside for their own reasons and plans change and all of a sudden those tickets become available day of the event. Worth a try if the kids are really set on being in MK (but don't tell them this and get their hopes up - just in case !) Good Luck !

We went one year at Halloween & went to the Boardwalk - it was great! We got to trick or treat - there was a show with music & charcters. They got to do a craft - it was a big party! And it was free!

We are going for halloween also! We did get tics for 31st but bought them right after they went up for sale. I did hear also that they block some off for companies. Hope you can get in!!!

I know there are events at DtD and the Boardwalk. I've also heard that many of the resorts do things on Halloween, especially Fort Wilderness Campgrounds.

I'd check into another MNSSHP date.

Not related to the candy topic, but how is Disney the week of Halloween? I assumed it would be really crowded (like any other holiday), but kids don't have off from school so I'm not really sure. I also noticed that they are offering discounts on the value rooms that week (this year at least), which I thought they did at off/less crowded times. :confused3

We are planning a trip for next fall and I had assumed Halloween and Columbus Day would be out, but I think Halloween would be really fun (plus the kids could wear whatever costumes they wanted without worrying about if they're warm enough for snow...). I don't want the rest of the trip to be overwhelmed with crowds. We'll probably be going for 7-9 days.

We were there Halloween week in '06, and it was empty. This year I'm thinking it may be a little more packed from what I'm reading.

DTD also did trick or treating on the 30th as well as the 31st.

Thanks Everyone. They also just posted the Halloween Happenings on the disboard page.

We'll be there on Halloween as well! We're going to MNSSHP on the 30th because we didnt want the huge crowds of the 31st. We'll either stay at the POP and participate in their activities. Or we'll head over to Ft Wilderness and trick or treat at the campers.
