This will be my first trip to Disney over Halloween. We will not be doing the MNNSHP...so, anyone have any suggestions as to what to do Halloween night or which park to visit? It will be just me and hubby of five years. We will be celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary during the trip! Aside from MNSSHP, do any of the other parks do anything special for the holiday? This is also my first trip during the food and wine festival. I am so excited! Thanks for any help you can offer.
THANKS,
Tabitha

You could get MNSSHP tickets for Halloween Night. I hear its pretty crowded but since they only sell a limited number of tickets I can't imagine it being overwhelming. I'm pretty sure Downtown Disney has trick or treating (haven't done it). No advice on what park to do that night other than Magic Kingdom. Have a great anniversary!

oops, I clearly misread your post:) Why not go to MNSSHP. I planned my trip in October for that reason only! Its AMAZING.

Why not goto to MNSSHP? It is "great" and worth the price IMO. If you there in October anyway I really think it's worth it. If you can stay up late the park really clears out after the last parade!!

It is just my hubby and me. I assumed the party was geared toward kids therefore, it would not be worth the additional price. What are the benefits to going as two adults?
THANKS a bunch for your help.

MNSSHP is fun for ALL ages. My bf and I don't have kids and we had a blast there last Oct- we are actually planning to go again this year. Hallowishes and the parade are AWESOME! It would be sad to go to WDW during Oct and not go to MNSSHP.

Any one else have any thoughts on Halloween at Disney and the best way to spend the evening? Or, any thoughts on MNSSHP for two adults with no children?
THANKS,
Tabitha

Last year we were there this past Halloween for a last minute unplanned trip (we vacated our house because we had no electricity after Wilma hit for 2 weeks)--anyway, it was just myself and 7 yr old dd. We were staying at the Dolphin and the BW had a fun Halloween party over there Halloween night.

They had a lot of kid's activities (crafts, cookie deocorating, trick or treat stations), but they did also have a DJ as well. You could head over to Epcot for an early dinner and if BW is planning on another Halloween party you can head over there for an hour to celebrate. Mickey was there in his Halloween costume for picture taking. It was a nice "free" way to celebrate Halloween at WDW without all the crowds.

I do know, it is VERY crowded on Halloween night for MK's party, I didn't hear the best reviews going on this night (and the extra expense it costs to go). I heard long waits for everything...so it just depends on what you prefer. I see nothing wrong though for just 2 adults and no children going.

Here's are a few photos from that night.

We went last October, and until a month before the trip, swore we weren't going to spend the extra $$ on MNSSHP tickets. But, after reading about the party and all the raves about it on the DIS, we decided to take the plunge.

It was great! DH and I enjoyed it as much or more than DD7 did. The parade was really good, and the special HalloWishes fireworks were amazing! The night we went was not crowded at all, and we walked right on Splash, Dumbo, Haunted Mansoin, Pirates of the Caribbean, Aladdin, Space Mtn, Buzz, and more. There were all kinds of characters around to get pics and autographs with, and the Trick-or-treating stations were giving out gobs of candy. There were DJs inTomorrowland and Fantasyland doing dance parties, and at the Castle, there were lots of Villians for a meet and greet. The atmosphere is just really cool- the decorations on Main St are awesome! Think about going- you should have a great time, even without kids. Many of the best costumes we saw were on adults (but you won't be out of place if you don't want to dress up- I wore a Halloween T, DH didn't dress up at all, and DD7 wore her Sleeping Beauty costume).

If you decide you still don't want to do MNSSHP, or want to do something else on Oct 31 itself, you do have a few options. As another poster said, the BW area has some activities- mstly for kids. DTD also has a bunch of activities, but I've heard it gets really, really crowded with locals. Fort Wilderness offers Haunted Hayrides during October, and Halloween themed movies at the nightly free screenings after the campfire. The storytelling and sing-along are also special, "scary"-themed during this time.
