Halloween - anyone have any plans?

I have two sets of plans

I should be in the hospital being induced!! but we all know beds are never availble when theyre menna be lol

the second set of plans is to decorate the outside of the house and hand out goodie bags to the kids

We are having a party as it's the weekend and i have grown my own pumpkins so will have fun carving those.

My neighbors decorate their houses and yards with the same enthusiasm they show in their Christmas displays--and that's a lot. Front yards are turned into cemetaries, giant inflatibles are everywhere, and the neighborhood turns into a mega block party Halloween night. I'll be putting orange and purple fairy lights and strings of Jack-o-lantern lights in the shrubs that line my porch. 40" Mickey dressed as a ghost and bathed in a spooky blue light will greet Trick or Treaters at the door. This is my third Halloween in this house. The first year 184 Trick or Treaters showed up, so that's what I prepared for last year. Then 237 kids came knocking on my door! I love it.

Think we could start a Halloween home decoration thread?

that would be cool :goodvibes

I usually decorate the garden with pumpkins, fake cobwebs, etc but this year we're at a wedding do on the evening so I'm not sure how much we'll do ... I'm a bit gutted as I love halloween and have ordered some fab mickey black and orange lights for the garden.

We'll be dressing up and having a small house party....! I think Robert is planning on ordering some ridiculous Iron Man costume this week... :headache:

Bob xoxox

Costume sounds interesting - my friends are going to MNSSP dressed up as superheroes - can't wait to see the photos!

Unfortunately I will be at work till 7.30, its only the little ones who come around our house so I will miss them as they usually come around 5 - 6pm. Plan on decorating the window so the kids know to knock and will leave a big bag of sweets for my 2 to share out. Missed it quite a lot in the last few years, either away or one year we were at the theatre. We get a few children knock on the door as there only seems to be us in the street that encourage it!

same here - we are probably the only ones in our town that encourages it!

I will be decorating the outside of the house as i always do :thumbsup2,fence,street door, window etc..We also have a few little decorations inside.
Hubby will be carving a pumpkin with help from the girls for the door step.
About 4.30-5pm we will take the girls trick or treating-Dd4 is going to be a vampire,Dd8 does'nt know yet.
Then we will return home and await for the trick or treaters to knock on our door for there treats. This is what we have always done and we really enjoy doing it :thumbsup2.
Hope you all have fun.x.

Sounds great.
As will i ;):goodvibes

you lucky thing :woohoo:

I will be decorating the inside and outside of my house I love halloween and making loads of treat bags I made 120 last year and had to make more lol I live in a big area....

I wish we had a few more Trick or Treat visitors ..... I buy bags of sweets and they usually end up not being given out and my kids end up eating them for weeks after.

We'll be at Universal Studios at the HHN:cool1:

you are very brave .....

maybe you will go before the induction date and then you can be back home in time for Halloween and Plan B!

Great idea to grow your own pumpkins!

Your Halloween sounds amazing - I so wish it wuld take off here like in USA - I would love to see some photos of your decorated house!

that would be cool :goodvibes

sounds great too - where did you get your Mickey lights from?

My Grandad has grown 2 this year for our girls, one is lovely+big and the other is not doing so good-so tiny-not sure if we could get anything carved on it properly .Don't know what happened with it :confused3.x.

there only seems to be us in the street that encourage it!
Exactly how i feel,i do it so as the children know to knock on my door,i know for a fact alot of the people in my street shut there curtains+turn there lights off once it get's slightly dark-so the children think there's no-one in :sad2:(and no they are not old dear's-and i do understand that, but some have children themselves),it honestly does'nt cost alot to buy a few sweeties.x.

I don't answer the door as it is always seems to be boys about 14/15 who with masks and hoods up look like they are up to no good. We never seem to get little ones anymore.
I understand this,we sometimes get this age with just a mask on there face, last year as i was giving sweets to some little tot's,these girls+boys came up the gate and when i offered them a bag of sweets, they said 'haven't you got any money' :scared1:.I love seeing the little ones all dressed up :cutie:.x.

Good idea-we had one last year :thumbsup2.x.
