Any truth to the rumor that WDW will expand its Halloween activiies to MGM?

Have heard talk of an adult/teen night to compete with Universal Studios.

Right now, this is still a rumor. Last year, tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party went on sale in either late April or early May. We should know if this rumor is true in the very near future.

I spoke with someone I know in Event Services, and it looks pretty good at this point. It will be at Disney-MGM Studios, and will be aimed at a higher aged crowd.

screamscape reported last month about the villians party at mgm.

they still have the report up.

I learned a few minutes ago that the Villain Party at Disney-MGM Studios has been canceled, at least for this year.

Event Services is making other plans (Pirate related), and the Villain Party took a back seat for now. Not to say it won't happen next year, just not this year.

Are the pirate related events for Halloween as well or for something else?

i read over on screamscape about this.

i think the pirate thing is to balance out for a boy event as the girls have princess and teas for enjoyment.

i thought it was to come out around spring break time, i might have misread that though.

the pirate event is not geared towards halloween

There's going to be a pirate event in New York City in conjunction with the release of the new movie.

They're planning a pirate and princess party (a hard ticket event, similar to MNSSHP) for possibly as early as January.
