Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

A Christmas Special on NBC tomorrow night (Thursday):

Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas: It's a holiday movie musical starring Dolly Parton as herself, along with special guests Jimmy Fallon, Miley Cyrus, Willie Nelson, Tom Everett Scott, Ana Gasteyer and Jimmie Allen.

Description: Dolly Parton's Mountain Magic Christmas follows Parton's desire to uplift an exhausted world's spirits by sharing the unique "mountain magic" she has always found in and around Dollywood at Christmas. Throughout the movie's production numbers and rehearsal chaos, Parton finds herself taking a private journey into her past, guided by the mysterious appearances of her personal Three Wise Mountain Men. (Filmed at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.)

Oh I will, though I'll be home to watch it now.

There's also CMA Country Christmas thursday too I believe

Well, I'm no longer receiving GAC (free viewing for November on my DISH subscription). So I'll have more time to catch the new stuff on the other channels that I had to skip.

1 Christmas movie Thursday night (besides Dolly's):

Lifetime: Serving up the Holidays at 8pm ET / 7CT
re-airs 4 hours later, 12:01am
and Sun 12/4 at 12pm ET
Thurs 12/8 at 10:03pm ET
Starring: Britt Irvin and Zach Roerig.
Description: Scarlett is a chef and co-owner of a restaurant. Her best friend buys her a ticket to a holiday cooking getaway, where Scarlett will relearn festive cooking, and maybe find love in a handsome rival chef from her past.

I'm looking forward to Dolly's special tonight. I saw a pic of her and Jimmy Fallon...it was at a BBQ place closeby where she grew up on the farm. A friend and I ate there while we were driving the backroads looking for the original cabin and farm (yes, we found it!)

I watched the Lindsey Lohan movie last night, against my better judgement. It was not awful LOL. There were a few incredibly stupid scenes, but once those went by, I shockingly somewhat enjoyed the rest :-). I was avoiding it, because I couldn't stand Chord Overstreet on Glee. Turns out, when not playing that annoying character, he is quite charming :-)

So far this is really really bad. I am so tempted to just turn it off but I love Dolly so I am hoping for at least some good songs to come.

Last night we watched “A Holiday Spectacular.” It was against my better judgment, only because I grew up in north Jersey, my birthday is the beginning of January and every year during Christmas vacation, my mom would bring me and a few friends to the 7 AM Christmas show. She worked, so we had to go real early. I just thought the movie couldn’t be as good as I remember the show to have been.

Boy, the scenes showing the music hall took me back, and the show portions were fabulous. The Wooden Soldiers Domino Effect, wow! I think Mom probably took me and friends from my 8th through 14th birthdays. The years were roughly 1955- 1961, not far from the time the movie was set in.

I enjoyed the story a lot, too!

“I Believe in Santa Claus” is a good one, I think. However, I also liked Pretty Paper with Willie Nelson.
I bailed and turned on Christmas on the Square instead. I didn’t even like I Believe in Santa Clause , it was too slow. But the story line was just so bad and incoherent.

Ok. Christmas on the Square was last year? I have that CD.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've been hesitant too to watch this movie. I've been to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular a few times. I didn't want to see a movie about it that may be bad. Glad I can watch now. :thumbsup2
