Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

I'm watching "Merry #Textmas".

As a multi-tasker, it's annoying to have to stop what I'm doing so I can read subtitles. AND the subtitles are in extremely small font (for these old eyes) in white. Even for those random scenes where the background is light colored. Really hard to read.

I tried watching this one and gave up. Subtitles first thing in the movie are not a good sign. And I was finding the heroine annoying. I compare this to Undercover Christmas for language accessibility, and that one wins by a mile — even if that one’s “pop star” was off key every time she sang acappella 🤣

I'm watching it too. Yes, the small, white font is extremely annoying and practically unreadable most of the time. :badpc: I do really like how the movie showcases the Mexican culture and artwork. :artist: And I like the Abuela (grandmother) character.

I couldn't make it past 15 minutes into Undercover Christmas. Once she started singing, it was like nails on a chalk board. And when the two leads met with "sparks flying" it was obvious the female lead could take care of herself better than what Steven Huszar could do. And I usually like him in movies. But when she's more capable (except for singing,) what was the point of him being a bodyguard? I didn't see any chemistry between them.

I just wish the kids did other styles of dances, other than the super fast hip hop(?) style of dancing. I would have liked to think some kids sitting at home could have seen dancing that they could think they could do.
That's all that's on tiktok these days so it's right on par with the times. These kids at home are learning those types of dances these days better than any of us could lol :)

"The Gift of Peace". While I really appreciated the concept, I felt this was sort of "meh". I've been in the position that the people in the group were in, and I didn't see any anger. Yes, anger is a part of it. And the guilt that comes with being angry at someone who died.

I watched the Holiday Sitter and actually enjoyed it. It was interesting to see the one lead who has wasn't interested in marriage/family and explaining why. There were some funny moments for sure, but also some emotion which was nice to see.

I also watched The Holiday Sitter and liked it. The commercials made it look like Jonathan Bennett was going to be way, way, way over the top like in The Christmas House 2 and I almost didn't watch because of that. In The Christmas House 2 there were a lot more characters as it was an ensemble movie, which offset Jonathan being so over the top. But I didn't think I'd want to watch Jonathan alone being so over the top for 2 hours, as the commercials seemed to suggest.

As it turned out he was only way over the top during the beginning quarter of the movie. Once he settled down to more realistic acting, he was good, especially at the end.

And to offset him, the second male lead 's acting was subtle, very calm, centering. And he's good looking. popcorn::

This movie is pretty much the same plot as Jesse Metcalfe's movie where he had to take care of his niece & nephew before Christmas. The story was solid.

Yes, I liked that part.

I agree. I give it a solid 4 🎄🎄🎄🎄.

I watched GA Family's B&B Merry. I liked it. Jen Lilley and Jesse Hutch gave solid performances. The mom and the aunt character were super annoying though. Very cloying and suffocating and really no need for them to have been that way.

I give the movie 3 🎄🎄🎄 out of 5.

Hallmark Channel: Lights, Camera, Christmas!
starring Kimberley Sustad and John Brotherton.
Description: A small town costume designer gets her big break when a Christmas movie production comes to town, but can she avoid falling for the star?

I also saw Lights, Camera, Christmas! I liked it. I really like Kimberley Sustad. She gave such a great down-to-earth performance amid the show business environment her character found herself in while a movie came to their town to film. I give it 🎄🎄🎄+1/2 trees.

I just watched that one, and really liked it too. I always like her.

Getting caught up :)

I really enjoyed A Holiday Spectacular and also liked The Holiday Sitter - nice to finally see a Hallmark movie featuring an LGBT cast.

The Royal Nanny is still my favorite of this year so far!

Who has watched Undercover Holiday from Hallmark?

I have just recorded it (pushed it off) and it's not looking good on IMDb on the ratings looking to see if anyone here has watched it and what they thought? Worth a watch or delete and catch it at a later date?

Ummm, it’s ok. For me it was pretty unbelievable. Plus the heroine is a pop star, and she hurt my ears with being out of tune. It was a different storyline, but for me it was hard to watch.

Wait, I’m talking about Undercover Christmas. That might be a different movie? This one had Stephen Huszar ( I always spell his name wrong 😆)
