Hallmark Christmas in July 🎄 comfort & joy ❤️

Apparently it was a Covid haircut, he just felt like it!

I guess this is one of those, "Act first, apologize later," scenarios. :lmao: Seriously, what are they going to do? They can't fire him from the third installment of the movie, even if his shaved head look doesn't represent the Hallmark brand.

The Hallmark movie tomorrow, As Luck Would Have It, looks really good. It stars Allen Leech, (who played Tom Branson in Downton Abbey, and was in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody.) So, the script will hopefully be better than usual. And it's set in Ireland. :shamrock:  I can really use a get away, travel movie right now. popcorn::

Here is a longer sneak peak clip:

Watched it. I like Jack (not bald though) but really not crazy about Taylor Cole. It was fine. I wouldn't rush to watch the replays.

I am very interested in the new movie tomorrow night as I loved the lead in Downton Abbey.

Yes, in my opinion, Taylor Cole is a bit stand-offish. It actually worked well in one movie, where she played a famous actress visiting a small town to do a movie. She had a bodyguard with her all the time who had to explain why she's always physically and emotionally guarded all the time. It also worked in her first movie with Jack, where she played a pubic relations assistant and needed to maintain a bit of professional distance from him. But, that stand-offish quality doesn't really work well in other movies.

I like this series partly because it included another couple. So the focus wasn't always on the two leads. Something we don't usually see in Hallmark movies.

Yes, it will be nice to see him actually get the girl for a change. :thumbsup2

I watched the Mystery 101: Killer Timing movie. I thought it was interesting having the ex-wife show up. However, I was surprised that they made her a stronger character than the leading female, Jill Wagner, was. That seemed off-balance. I don't remember her character being such a scardy-cat and so scared for the leading man. She's been shot at before.

A movie I am recommending NOT to watch is Fit For A Prince. In my opinion, the two leads had no chemistry. So, when the prince kept asking out the female lead, it seemed like he kept hitting on her, even after she kept saying no several times. And when she found out he has a girlfriend, (the one that was picked out for him at birth,) and the female lead called him out on it and said he was just a player, yeah, he did seem like a player. :crazy2: It was like he saw a shiny ball and he had to go after it, not that he was really attracted to HER.

The writer also made the female lead as dumb as a box of rocks. Really creative but dumb. And they tried to make her too much like Cinderella, so she was taken advantage of by her boss, and she ALLOWED it. :headache: Why does Hallmark always do that? Females make up their largest demographic, yet they consistently make their female leads LESS THAN, and have some problem instead of STRONG.

The the movie was wrapped up and ended in a really implausible way. :headache: Skip this one.
I started watching this, Fit for a Prince, and because of everything you stated I just couldn’t watch it. Gave up, and now I don’t feel guilty! ☺️

I haven't watched any of her movies, I couldn't stand her on The Originals.

I know what you mean. I have Amazon Prime. Been looking through their movies & TV shows. When I see some actor I can't stand, I usually just pass on seeing the show/movie, no matter how great it's supposed to be.

This week's new Hallmark movie is Right In Front of Me starring Janel Parrish, (of Pretty Little Liars,) and Marco Grazzini (of Virgin River.)

It re-airs tomorrow at 7pm ET, Tues 8pm ET, and next Sun 1pm ET.

Sneak Peek:

This month's two new Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel movies are:

A new episode of Lacey Chabert's Crossword Mysteries.
(Premiered last week, but re-airs tomorrow night at 7pm ET.)

Right after, at 9pm ET, premieres episode 3 of Danica McKellar's Matchmaker Mysteries:

Tonight's movie was decent. Kinda predictable but most of them follow a pattern. I kinda wish Hallmark would go back to the movies on the evens - 8-10pm rather than 9-11pm. Maybe it follows daylight savings as they used to be on the evens.

I noticed last year during the Christmas season, either HM&M or Hallmark would consistently show movies on the evens and odds, it would always be the same, for each channel. I liked that. I wish Hallmark would air some older, different movies! Seems the same repeats each week!

Remember Christmas in Dollywood from 2 years ago?

Dolly Parton has an organization called Imagination Library which takes popular childrens books, makes lower cost versions of them, and gifts the books to children from birth to age five, whose families might not be able to afford any books otherwise.

Danica McKeller is a real life math genius, (Good Will Hunting level of genius.) She has written several math books for children. One of her books, Goodnight Numbers is a selection of the Imagination Library and has recently reached the milestone of a million copies of the book have been gifted out. :worship:

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, now in it's 26th year, gifted its 150 millionth Book. :littleangel:

I felt the same, but we saw an interview that said he had an medical issue and lost patches of hair so he had to shave it. Some people were raving about the lex luther look just not me.

Lately I have been into watching passionflix (on my phone)the stories are so good even if I have to FF some.

I finally finished the Irish castle one (As Luck Would Have It) this morning. Enjoyed it!

I really enjoyed As Luck Would Have It, too. It re-airs today at 5pm ET.

It's almost a copy of another Ireland location based Hallmark film a couple years ago, Forever In My Heart, with Merritt Patterson and Jack Turner, which I didn't enjoy as much. The female lead works for a large hotel chain that wants to buy a property in Ireland and of course meets the male lead there.

I was kind of holding my breath throughout the movie, in case that moment happens when a promising Hallmark movie, due to bad writing or whatever, turns into yet another mediocre Hallmark movie :headache: and would signal end of Allen Leach's career. As in, "Oh man, he really can't get cast in a better movie than this, after Downton Abbey???" :sad2:

That didn't happen, in my opinion. :thumbsup2 The movie turned out to be a sweet film. Allen plays a nice romantic lead. He actually grew up down the road from one of the locations they filmed at. And surprisingly, they filmed in of the towns where Matt Damon ended up having to stay in during the pandemic lockdown.

As Luck Would Have It really lets Ireland :shamrock: be the third star of the film. Ireland looks so beautiful, albeit COLD :cold: as they filmed for about 3 weeks in late Feb & March. I looked up some of the locations the movie filmed at:

The Inn location was filmed at the Burren Castle Hotel. Here's their pub used in the movie:

Ireland has been on my bucket list to visit, for quite some years now.

I think that's a great idea. They have a B-I-G library of films from past years. They should bring them out.

Me too. Unfortunately, I think Hallmark is saving many of their older, better movies to show only on the Hallmark streaming app. I guess they want them to feel like they are paying for some extra, better content.

There was a movie from about 4 years ago I really liked. It was an Amish themed movie, An Uncommon Grace. After it's initial premiere and re-airing, they stopped showing it on Hallmark. A couple weeks ago, I saw a commercial for the app and there was the movie, "showing exclusively" on the app. (I thought, "So that's where that movie went.)

They also did that with my all time favorite Hallmark Movies & Mysteries series, Signed, Sealed & Delivered, which I mentioned a couple times. It disappeared off HM&M for YEARS even though they re-ran other series in infinity. :sad2: It only came back to HM&M last summer and is finally airing again.

I get that those of us who watch the channels get the movies as they premiere and during it's first run re-airings. That's our perk. But Hallmark doesn't seem to realize or maybe care that WE pay a LOT for cable TV, (those of us who haven't cut the cord yet) to have Hallmark & HM&M included in our package. Certainly a lot more than some of the streaming services added together. It would be nice if WE got more to watch than just the 2 hours on Sat & Sun evenings and the 10 weeks of their Christmas season. I would definitely watch more movies during the week if they aired more and better movies they DO have. Maybe they don't care if we don't watch during the week? :confused3

For anyone who followed the earlier marathons of these, I just noticed there are two "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" movies coming up on Monday the 26th at 6:00 and 8:00pm on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

:thumbsup2 These two movies are actually in order, story-wise. The second movie is kind of a sequel to the first one. :)

Also, Wed, the 28th at 6 & 8pm ET, HM&M is re-airring another two. :)
