After tons of planning and even more waiting, we are finally almost at the date of departure to our first trip!!! :cool1: Wish to first thank everyone for helping me along the way!!! :thumbsup2

My questions today is around flying from Halifax to Newark to MCO.

1. I have read the details on here about not leaving security at Newark and taking the bus NOT the train. If I do that, will I have to have my carryon bags opened and check again? I ask as we will be travelling with a laptop and some medical equipment which needs to be taken out of baggage for security. I am trying to 'plan' my packaging as best I can so we can make the best use of our check bags but still have a 'easy time' going thru security.

Having travelled a lot thru my work, I find it a pain to take my medical equipment out and my laptop. But it will be even worse if I pack clothes and the like in THAT carry on. If I only need to do it at the Halifax and Orlando end and avoid it at Newark won't be too bad.

2. My second question is the one that makes me more nervous. I booked our return flight with only a 42 minute stop over :scared1: Don't know what I was thinking!!! Do you think this is enough time to make it from one terminal to the other for our flights? I suppose if the answer to question 1 is I don't do security it won't be so bad but if so I do need to get carryons recheck, will it be enough time?

Thanks for the help.

1. Taking the bus will Not involve any searches. Its as simple as as it can be ... you will have no problem.

2. 42 minutes is fine ... takes maybe 5 minutes to travel the bus. I suggest getting a map of terminal C before your trip, so you know where the gate is. I will post something.

Okay ... the bus will drop you off near Gate C71-73. If you know your gate, simply go up the stairs (or elevator) from the Bus and when you head out into the terminal, know if you are going left or right. If your gate is below 100, then take a right, if not take a left for a very short distance, then go right. To reach the appropriate arm of the terminal.

The big issue here, is food. Terminal C has the places to eat, so if you are making good time. I.e. it only takes 10 minutes to get from Terminal A to C, then a quick pick up of fast food may be in order. Terminal A has poor food choices. (remember this for the return trip home)

Great information, Ted, thanks.

WOW!! Ted, thanks for the help! :worship: What amazing information! So helpful!! Appreciate the DISBOARDS everyday as this trip get closer and closer!!!

Just a little more on Terminal A. Typically flights I've been on to EWR always arrive in A (when flying from YHZ and nearly areas ... this is due to aircraft size ... A is built for Q400 and 145s for example). Terminal A is like 3 bubbles linked together.

You will likely arrive in A2 of Terminal A ... if so, the bus stop is next to Terminal A28. This will take 2 minutes to find the bus .. look for large signs that say Shuttle Bus.

If you arrive at A3, there is a bus that takes you from A3 to A2. 45 second bus ride. However, almost all Traffic goes thru A2, so this is highly unlikely.

To determine if you are in A2 (look for Gates A20 to A28), A3 is A30 to A39,

A1 exists also (A10 to A18) ... this also has a shuttle also, just like A3.

In all likelihood, you will arrive in A2, proceed to the left of A28 takes the stairs or the elevator. Security will ask to see your boarding passes ... this is just to make sure you are not going to terminal C with a reason! No bag check for sure ... they. Buses are usually waiting, this is not a bus stop where you will stand there waiting and waiting.
