Half-day in AK

Hi eveybody !

I have planned a half-day in AK. Could you tell me what you think about ? Do you think we will be out at 1.30 PM if we follow it ? It takes place on a Sunday morning...

Arrival when rope drops... Kilimandjaro Safari, Pangani Forest, Fastpass Kali River Rapids, Maharajah Jungle, Flight of Wonders, Kali River RapidsIt's tough to be a bug, Lunch Pizzafari, Festival of the Lion King...

Break... The afternoon will be dedicated to MGM but I still don't know what to plan there... Depends of the time we go out from AK...

I think you'd find it tough to do all that in one morning, the pangani and maharajah treks can take quite a time, if you're really only stuck for one morning, I'd do Kilimanjaro, Lion king, Tough to be a bug, Kali then Dinosaur. Flights of wonder is great but can take a while by the time you queue and watch the show. also don't underestimate the length of time it takes to get out of the lion king show and queue for Bug etc

I agree, you'll be pretty rushed and I don' think you'll get it all in. I love AK, we've been there many times, and I think it's much more an all day park. We love to wander the paths and see all the creatures we can...Plus with EE open, I think that AK will be more crowded in general than in the past....

i guess that i am in the minority here. you can do all of that in one day. in fact, i would guess you could do all of it by 1. go straight to the safari, then bugs life, get to the first show of fotlk, head over to dinosaur, etc. ee will take much of the crowd the first couple of hours. good luck.

I think it'd definitely be too much. You'd have to rush Maharajah and Pangani, which seems a shame because the whole point is to have a more leisurely walk through those excellent attractions! You should also note that on busier days Pangani can get quite jammed making it difficult to get through quickly.

And the other problem is that you have two shows to consider - they are both 20 mins to 30 mins long + time to queue and because they are on at set times it might be hard to organise your morning properly. You may have to run all over the place and get indigestion by taking only 5 mins to eat your lunch (for which you might have to queue anyway). The added problem is that AK can get very hot.

I think to get the best of the AK you need to take your time. I prefer to spread it out over two longer half days (say up to 2.30 on each).

I say you can do your list by 1:30pm:

Kilimandjaro Safari, Pangani Forest, Fastpass Kali River Rapids= 1 hour
Maharajah Jungle, Flight of Wonders, Kali River Rapids= 1 hour
It's tough to be a bug, Lunch Pizzafari, Festival of the Lion King= 1.5 hour

Park opening at 9am; 3.5 hours for the above plus another hour for any timing issues with the shows gets you done at 1:30.

p.s. Get a FP for It's Tough To Be a Bug as soon as you can after getting the Kali River Rapids FP...

Do you know if the day you plan to visit AK is a EMH day in the morning? That could pose a problem if you are not staying on property. If it is and you are staying on property, then get there early and you should be able to get it all in with little rushing.
