Hi,

We are seriously thinking of buying Half Board + vouchers for our stay.

One of the restaurants we would like to eat at is Cafe Mickey.

I know that I can use my half board + vouchers there and pay the difference to eat off the 30 euro menu (three courses).

But

I notice in the euro disney brochure it says you can have a character dinner eat all you want buffet in cafe mickey for £21.

But

Because we will be using vouchers we cannot book until we get there (I assume).

Can we use the vouchers for the character dinner eat all you want buffet?

If so if we do not book it until we get there do you know if the cost will still be £21???

(The reason I ask is that in the eurodisney brochure it shows lucky nugget eat all you want buffet as £21, but it looks like if you do not book beforehand and just "turn up" when there it cost £30.

Help please.

I think theres been some misunderstanding- Cafe Mickey isn't a buffet restaurant, its table service. I believe the breakfast may be a buffet though...

Sorrry I can't help more, I'm sure someone else will be along soon enough to help more!

I'm wondering if you're getting Cafe Mickey and The Lucky Nugget confused??

At Cafe Mickey you choose off the menu. Like you said you'll pay the difference from the face value on your HB+ voucher to eat there. It's open for lunch and dinner (and breakfast but I don't think you're asking about that here).

The Lucky Nugget is an all-you-can-eat buffet. Your HB+ voucher will cover you for all you care to eat plus a soft drink. It's open for lunch, and when the park is open until 11pm in July and August it's also open for dinner.

You are still able to book in advance when buying the HB+ vouchers. You can either phone and book on 00 33 1 60 30 40 50 or else book when you arrive, either through your hotel concierge or at City Hall. If you don't book in advance then you do run the risk of not being able to eat where you want at the time you want, especially at very busy times, and Cafe Mickey does always seems to be busy in the evening.

By purchasing the HB+ vouchers it means you can eat at The Lucky Nugget for £21 as opposed to otherwise paying €30 (not £30), a great saving considering the poor £/€ exchange rate. :thumbsup2

Hope this makes sense and helps. :goodvibes

Hello,

Thanks for your replies.

In the brochure it says that you can have a character lunch/dinner in disney village at cafe mickey for £21 .... ""menu with a wide choice of appetisers, main courses, pizzaz and desserts. For children a special menu, a main course, dessert, 1 soft drink and surprise"""

I am confused - that is why I thought the restaurant must be split into two - upstairs to eat off the normal menu 30 euros (where I have eat before) and downstairs buffet meal to accomodate the above - HELP.

:cool1:

No there is no buffet lunch/dinner there but they do offer the set menu which is what you have seen - or the chance to order off the menu
It is misleading because either way it is a character lunch/dinner

I am so sorry .... struggling to grasp this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So are you saying that if we booked the lunch/dinner with disney characters BEFORE we went (if we did not book half board + vouchers) then it would cost £21 but if we WAIT and sort when there (because bought half board + vouchers) then it will cost 30 euros?????.

Just trying to get it right in my mind as to whether want to buy half board vouchers. I think at the moment we are looking to maybe eat at Annette Diner, Cafe Mickey and Lucky Nugget and A Another. :sad2:

Here goes with your Cafe Mickey question -

As has been said by others, the Cafe Mickey meal is not a buffet. What you've seen described in the brochure for £21 is lunch or dinner, with a set menu (so you'd have one starter, one main, and one dessert each). I believe this is the menu which also costs 30 euros if you don't pay for it in advance.

However, if you use one of your half board plus vouchers for your Cafe Mickey meal, the face value of that voucher is 25 euros per adult (even though you only pay £21 per adult for it when you buy it in advance - this is for trips after 3rd April 09). You can use your half board voucher at face value, and you may find that 3 courses is too much (I've not managed 3 courses at any table-service restaurant in DLRP yet). So you may find that using your half board vouchers at face value, and ordering from the a la carte menu, works out better value than paying £21 in advance and ordering from a more restricted menu.

Either way, you'll definitely save money either booking the set menu meal in advance, or using your half board plus voucher there.

Finally I have got it!!!! :rotfl2: :crazy2:

Many thanks for your persistence, it does sound like it is still worth buying half board + vouchers.

I think we will go to cafe mickey, lucky nugget, annette's diner and maybe plaza gardens

Strange question I know but what does for example DH stand for .... is it dear husband, or disney husband or ?????

Disney Husband, Dear Husband, Darling Husband, Dratted Husband??!! :rotfl2:

There's a list of abbreviations here. :)
