Hi Again,

Okay I have booked Half board premium. But i am still not 100% sure what it means to me. For instance, were eating in Cafe Mickey on Sunday night. Can we order any starter, maincourse and desert from the menu, without having to pay extra?
If for instance we had a cheaper meal and ordered a bottle of wine, would we get charged extra for the wine, even if we hadn't gone over the face value of the vouchers?

Any info would be great,

Gavin

The vouchers have a face value and you can order up to that value - although I would have thought it would cover most things in Cafe Mickey.
I thought wine (or a drink) was included anyhow with the premium vouchers but I may be wrong

I guess though were is the advantage to getting the 15% discount if you just get face value?

Because you are paying in advance, and in sterling, there is an advantage, even if you're using your vouchers for face value.

I don't know what premium is worth, but my adult half board plus vouchers cost me £17 each - their face value in the parks is 25 euros. At the current exchange rate, thats a saving of around £4 per meal per adult.

I used my vouchers at buffet restaurants, where the cost, if I'd paid on the day, would have been around 30 euros per adult. So I saved an additional 5 euros per meal, compared to what I would have paid without having half board vouchers.

I believe they are worth 44 Euro in the park, and 11 euro for a child. So lets say may dinner bill is 60 can we put a bottle of wine on it as well. Or do the voucher just cover food?

The Voucher would entitle you to either:
  • A starter, main course, dessert and a drink, or
  • A buffet and a drink

Any difference between the price of meal (if it is more) and the vale face of the vouchers will have to be paid for.

Ive been wondering about this too, as we want to get half board plus vouchers for our trip next September.
So does that mean that at Walts for instance we can have whatever we like but just pay the difference if it goes over voucher value? Or do you just get one table service meal during the stay and that voucher is worth more?

Hi,

With half board plus, you pay for each nights stay you are having - so if you are booked to stay 2 nights, you get 2 half board plus vouchers. You can use these any time you like in your stay (ie lunch or dinner) at any of the restaurants in the hotels, parks, and Village which take half board vouchers.

For Walts, yes, you would choose what you like from the menu, and pay anything over the 25 euros face value of the half board voucher.

basically..... each half board voucher can be used in certain restaurants.
Those restaurants mentioned on the voucher will have a set menu (if table restaurant) and this will usually have a selection of items on it. the voucher then completely covers this set menu.
you can eat at any restaurant, where u can use the value of your voucher towards the meal - but u will never get any 'change'.
so, cafe mickey will offer a set menu, which u can use ur vouchers for completely, or u can choose whatever u want fromt he menu, and then use ur vouchers to pay, and then cash/card any difference.
hope that makes sense and helps!

Ah, right. Thats quite good that you can eat from the set menu or choose anything, its more flexible than I thought.
The only trouble now is Ive got to choose out of all of those restaurants where to eat for 4 days! Decisions, decisions...
I think I will use DLP food guide to look what the kids would eat first, and then decide.
Thanks both, sorry for gatecrashing the thread ; )

Thanks for the replies, folks. Were off in the morning, so all we have to do now is pack and get the kids to bed.
