Hakuna Matata - Marching in like Lions!

Just signed up the the Aztec Assault 5K & Obstacle course. Looks like we should be running, crawling through tunnels, climbing walls, some sort of pyramid and slogging through a mudpit! Should be interesting, rules specifically say nudity will not be allowed, free beer at the end. What have I gotten myself into....

Race is May 2nd

Tonight as I was finishing up with cleaning my department, I was informed that I had to break down my big cooler, move all my product and ice out. So, I had to load up a U boat with a few hundred pounds of fish, then push it to another cooler. Take my four ice bins out and shove those into different spots. A good leg and upper arm work out.

A perfect way to end a busy day...

Connie Disney will not say, I've heard insurance and USATF, it depends on who you ask!!
One of my sponsors even ask them if they could pay for the cranks to have awards and they said NO.:confused3

As for my chair the company said get lost, they admitted that they new it would not work and said that they told me!!!!:sad2: Another $100 to get that fixed.

Thanks for all the congrats. :grouphug:

I did a slow 20 miles yesterday, I need to start training again if I want at shot at Boston.
It's just hard with 2 chairs really not working. My Dh got the parts to fix my old chair, now I just need him to do it!!:rotfl:

Good morning y'all.

I'm off to meet my walkers for a 10 miler and then tons of errands and a trip to the back woods to return a leather jacket left in my car.

Syko:hug: ain't much but it's from the heart.

Everyone, let no one steal your joy today.

Dave:hippie:

Today they say a high of 60° - cloudy; rain

Gerry-:welcome: Glad you are joining our Team!

Jack Good Afternoon! :surfweb:

Jennifer- Nice Run ::yes::

Denise, Jack, MaryJ, Pam, & Robert-
Miss you Guys! :rainbow:

Hope- :bride: WTG you are going to be so toned and fit!

Kim- Yeah – knew those 2# could not stick around for long! ::yes::

Kristy- :sad1: Very disappointing to know Disney does things like this-
Disney does not want cranks in any of their races

Are you saying Disney only recognizes a men’s division in the Crank category? :sad1:

Oh No-it seems like you have been getting negative stuff extra hard from all sides. :grouphug:
While my Dh was fixing the disk last night he found something else that was broken.

Lynn Humm just received a letter stating my Census form will be in the mail within a week (?) Will we also have someone door-to-door? :confused3

MaryJ :littleangel: Now exciting a precious little one is on the way! I know it was exciting & fun to be included in the room makeover!

pixiedust: My back is feeling better, but the pain has now moved to my abdomen. I have a feeling it might be related to the colitis.

Have Fun: 7K Run of Luck on Saturday. :upsidedow

Mike- party: :bday: party: Hope you have a wonderful day!
Brief Description: An extreme 5K adult obstacle course designed to challenge the mind and body. You'll be climbing over cargo nets, mounds, and walls, crawling thru tunnels and mud pits, sloshing thru water holes and traversing narrow planks. Glorify your accomplishment with a mud covered body, a medal, live music and beer!

Scott- I am thinking your job is even longer hours than the 6:AM 6:PM
iPod Touch- DD said you probably would be better off reading the manual than her giving you a written explanation! :headache:

Sue- ::yes:: Yes, I agree you are blessed, but so is your family! Not the norm in today’s world, but we do have a few guys on our Team that willing share responsibilities of home & family!
Margie, I'm totally blessed with a fantastic DH & DD. We are always planning, making to do lists, etc. to get things done. All household responsibilities are shared 50/50. DH does the cooking what more could I ask for.

Vicky-

AFM: Yesterday Rest Day-Gym this morning - all 3 little ones down for a nap-albeit short! :upsidedow

Enjoy the moments!

Good Afternoon Team!

3 work days done - 2 to go :yay: it's been a long busy week.

Welcome! Gerry

Mike, Happy Belated Birthday. Did you make it to a movie?

Margie, I could really go for a nap today. Oh, to be young again.

Did 5 last night. Taking tonight off for a little girlie pampering (pedicure etc.). Make it a good one..........Sue

:welcome: Gerry

Margie For the marathon weekend, as there where more men, I had to be a man.
As there where only women at the Princess I am a women, if a man had done the Princess he would have been a women!!!!

Hiya Team,

Had a nice B-Day lounging at home. Liz bought me a Polar heart and distance monitor. Reallly cool, now all I have to do is figure out how to work it!!

Sue~ We ended up ordering pizza and watching District 9 on pay-per -view. Good pizza, okay movie.

Gerry~ Welcome to the team, glad you signed up for the EEC. I thought that I would be the only one. We will proudly carry the TEAM HAKUNA TAMATA banner together. This will be my third time at this race. Have you done it before?

Everyone else, Thanks for the B-Day cheer!!

Today I did 4.19 miles in 48 minutes. Longest I've done this year so far.

Take Care, Mike

Welcome Gerry.

Hello everyone.

Met my walkers for a strong 7 miler. Then drove to central city to take my monday date back her coat that she left in my stang, had lunch with her. Drove to Madisionville (30 miles away) met a new lady and we had a nice walk in a park with a lake and then had salads. Drove home, did the marketing, laundry, made pizza and going to relax for a couple of hours and another new princess is driving down here after she gets off for a late supper with me.

I never realized how busy single people are.

Dave:hippie:

Margie, She's chosen dresses and there not my style (one shoulder), but not horrible.

Mike, The Aztec thing sounds cool.

Gerry, Welcome!

As for me, 7.25 miles in 1 hour 5 minutes. Yesterday I took a rest day.

Anyone here do tri's? I'm thinking about doing a sprint one at the end of the summer. I have running and swimming. Does anyone know if I could just use my regular bike ("moutain" bike from Wal-mart)?

Thanks,
Jennifer

Sorry Mike I didn't realise I missed your b'day.:upsidedow

Jennifer I have never done one, but I have seen them at WDW and you see all types of bikes. I think it depends if you are there to win or to have fun.

Good Morning Team! :wave2:

Today they say a high of 64° - mostly cloudy; windy; 70% rain
Our snow is almost gone-even the huge dirty piles are way smaller :goodvibes

Connie- Good Morning - you are probably in deep sleep right about now!
Me-I apparently went to bed too early last night :rolleyes1

Dave- Yes, we are busy, but PTL not all in the same way!
I would not want that kind of stress in my life. :scared1:

Jennifer- Great Run and Rest Days are important! :goodvibes
As for Tri’s–the WISH Thread: Danskin Triathlon should get you some answers your questions .

Denise, Hope, Jack, Lynn, MaryJ, Pam, & Robert-
Wishing you Sunshine and great training moments! :rainbow:

DisneyGerry- Hummm Gerry lives in Orlando! :cool1:

Kim- Happy Training! Hope the foot feels better every day! :goodvibes

Kristy- I read some of the Testimonials on the Freedom Rider – Awesome!
BTW what state do you live in-I think Dave asked earlier but I seemed to have missed it? I live in southern Michigan. It truly sounds like your sport has much the same problems, as we walkers did. It is better now, but we are still treated as less than secondary to a runner…even in the general public.

Mike- Nice B-Day memories and present! WTG - nice run too. :goodvibes

Scott-Okay, I think meetings, budget, and purchasing stuff sounds way less stressful than the other ‘stuff’ you do!
And I do not mean building your home, all the projects, or cooking!
As active as you and Lynn are you will be one of the few that do really well when they retire.
:thumbsup2

Sue- Oh Sue, wait a few years  it does not get better.
I go with the thought whoever came up with that saying ‘Life Begins at 40,’ did not live that long! When I can get all of these kids to take a nap at the same time I do too! I am truly more in line with ‘Getting Old is Not for Wimps’!

Vicky-

AFM: Gym yesterday – a college guy showed me a new quad exercise- feet way apart touch one knee to the floor.
Of course he used Smith machine bar weights and had one foot up on a box! I only did 2 sets of 10, but ouch-they are a bit touchy this morning.

Enjoy the moments!

Me either Margie, I just wanna find a new soul mate and get back to moving forward. The day yesterday went well, I had a nice lunch with the lady who left her jacket in my car. The next claimed to be a non-smoker but was a smoker, so she is disqualified, both for smoking and dishonesty. See Connie and Mike I'm looking for the red flags. I was to tired to meet the last supper lady so we rescheduled.

I didn't wanna get out of bed this morning but it's days like this that I get to practice my strength of will. I'm posting a good morning to my dear friends here and then my butt is off to the pool.

You guys are all amazing and I'm proud to know all of you.

Dave:hippie:

Margie I,m in FL, just down the road from WDW.
Our house is suronded by land owned by Disney, and some of it is release area of all the critters WDW do not want.!!!

Good morning team! Got out for a quick run last night after work and again this morning! I'm so glad I don't need to wear running tights anymore but I do miss the pockets on my jacket. I have a Spibelt but it's not quite the same - I still find it bounces when I put my phone in. Back to the gym tonight for a quick 1/2 hour training session and tomorrow will be a rest day. I'm trying to adjust my eating a little bit again - cutting out the sugars, white foods etc. With the warm weather here, I'm probably going to have to buy a few pieces of clothing.

Sue - A pedicure sounds like fun! I'll bet it's only a couple more weekends before we can wear sandals.

Dave - Enjoy your pool workout!

Kirstie - That's really disappointing news with Disney. I don't understand.

Margie - Sounds like a tough exercise. Are you standing on one leg to do it? Glad to hear most of the snow is gone from your area.

Jennifer - I think Sue's DH does triathlons. I don't know much about them but I think the bikes from WM would be heavier than some of the other bikes you would get from a speciality store. No doubt those ones would be a lot more expensive though.

Mike - Happy belated birthday and WTG on your 4.19 miler!!

Gerry - :welcome:

Scott - You're always busy working and travelling. When do you sleep ;)

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Good thing your fast Syko, them critters sound scary, Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh My!

Dave:hippie:

Good morning, TEAM!!!!

Gerry Welcome to Hakuna Matata! :welcome: Glad you are joining us in our quest to stay healthy! Questions? Ask. Answers! Share! We have walkers, runners, one crank, newbies and veterans. We would love to hear more about you and your training!

Mike Happy Belated Birthday!!! :bday: Sorry I missed it. I am sure glad you didn't!! I guess we did pretty good job of explaining red flags! Thanks!

Jennifer My only concern about your Walmart bike for tris is it getting there in one piece! They aren't all that sturdy and impossible to fix! You might not even make it through training. At least...that's been my experience with them. I think, especially since it's spring, I would sell the Walmart bike and buy a Trek or equivalent bike. I would get one of their less expensive ones in the $300 range.

Margie :scared1: Good gosh, of course I am not on that Chatroulette! :scared1: I heard about it on the local news. They were warning parents. I don't even have a webcam! Stop getting up so early!!!

Dave Glad to hear you are paying attention to red flags! Saves a lot of time and trouble! Btw, I think New Soul mate is an oxymoron! -- Great job on the workouts! You are such an energizer bunny!

Scott and Lynn You are both tied up in paperwork! Yikes!

 Vicky, Shannan, Robert, Denise, Hope, Jack, and Pam!

Sue I LOVE power naps. I think that's why I hated high school. Couldn't get one...now college...that was different! :rotfl:

Kristy I continue to be amazed at the strange regulations and weird rules you have to play under. The logistics have to be trying! I admire your relentless pursuit!

Mary Welcome home!! Glad you enjoyed your trip! I personally think it's NEVER to early to makeover a baby room! :)

Kim How's our only Goofy??

It's a pretty day so far. I am undecided what to do. My foot is improving and I want to be outside. So, who knows....

See ya! Connie
