Hakuna Matata - Marching in like Lions!

Long days, off to an admin meeting today, one day off this weekend and then on the Road Sunday, I need to retire.... LOL

Hang in there Kids.

Good morning everyone! Just a quick drive by for me this morning - It's been really hectic at work for some reason. So I'm only sitting down and eating breakfast now. Figured I'd better eat a little something or I'd just be running on fumes. Did a 5 miler this morning - it was nice and cool and saw a lot of other people out there. When it is going to stop being dark at 6:30 AM? Did some hill repeats last night. Picked out a hill that was a 0.25 miles and managed to get my best time so far. I ran one at 2:24 minutes which is a huge improvement over my hill splits from two weeks ago (3:00+). Will be back at the gym tonight for a quick 30 minute training session.

Jack - Will try and test out the chilli recipe this weekend. I love having the leftover to take to work during the week. Btw, never thought of avocado as a topping! Neat!

Sue - Saw a few runners out this morning in shorts. It was about 3-4C when I left. It's still a little too cold for me though. Maybe when I get speedier!

Scott - When do you sleep? ;)

Connie -  Stay strong! We're here if you need an ear or anything else!

Dave - Good luck with the 12-hour day! Good thing you got your pool workout in already.

Margie - Thanks for the St. Patrick's day trivia! Did not know that about the pinching!

Kim - pixiedust: for your feet! Are they going to be okay for the Buffalo 1/2?

Better get back to it! Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Good last day of winter y'all.

Scott I see that around your neck of the woods winter is going to go out with a nice snow storm.

Margie dear, I'm sorry your little charges are sick, maybe with warmer weather they will be feeling better.

I had a good night's sleep so I'm recovered from my late night's in Nashville. It's speed work at the track this morning so I needed the rest to do good today. Monday was fast 200m sprints so today will be 400m sprints with good warm up and cool down miles.

Is everyone ready for spring weather?

Have a magical day y'all.

Dave:hippie:

Connie, so sorry about DD, hope all will be OK with her with a little help from "MOM"

Dave what is his name? I use to follow the Marlies as a teenager. So what did you think? We usually have to travel to other towns to watch hockey, can never get tickets here in Toronto.

Vicky, I think the feet will be OK, they hurt alot worse before I did goofy, but it appears the pain has moved a bit now more closer to the toes at the arch so I think more stretching is in my future. Are we still going to try and hook up next Sat? What time are you planning on going?

Hi Kimmer, his name is Robert Swiebel. He is my race walking horse ferrier I've mentioned. He lives in Tenn and drives up to Bowling Green to train with me. He will be trying out for the Tenn Senior Olympic Team so he and I may be competing against each other in Houston. It may actually turn out that the Tenn and Ky Senior Olympic race walking team are all Team Panda.

I like you tattoo, are you going to modify it when you finish the 2011? How about when you do the 2012, 2013, 2014......

I don't recognize the name, but I will ask Mike he has a great long term memory.

I don't think my leg is long enough for all that....:) Working hard at getting my body ready for Sept to start official training for 2011. I have 3 (1/2) this year Buffalo in May, Air Force in Sept and Toronto in Sept. Then I hope I am fierce and strong to go for the Goofy 2011 training!!!!!

Kim

Yep Dave we are getting hit again, roads closed etc etc etc.... Spring in the Rockies. What Fun.

Happy Friday everyone! Looks like we may have a little bit of rain on the weekend. Why are the weekdays sunny and the weekends rainy? Planning on going for either a 10K tomorrow morning or making up my missed 15K from last weekend. I want to do the 15K because I want to give my hilly route another try but have an appointment for a hair cut so I'll have to wake up early if I want to get it done.

Kim - Yep, I'm in for next Saturday. I think I'll try and get there around 11 or 11:30. What time were you and Mike heading over?

Kirstie - That's warm for us :) I'd be swimming in a pool ... if I had one. It's always funny coming to Disney in the winter because the lifeguards are always bundled up in heavy jackets, gloves and scarves. How's your training for Boston coming along?

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Please tell me you are doing the Goofy in 2011. I can't imagine Disney without you and your Lady.

Hi Everyone!

I've been gone for a few days visiting/helping my DD with her two DD's while her hubby was out of town. Had a great visit, but no real exercise unless you count carrying a 17 lb. baby up and down stairs several times a day! My knees are sore from it, so they definitely think it should count!

It is beautiful here today, so I'm going to try to get out for a walk this afternoon. Did go to the gym this morning and worked with the trainer. It felt good.

Connie... to you and your DD. With three DD's of my own, I know how they often seem to need mom no matter how old they are!

Happy Friday Team!

It's been a long work week. We are having beautiful temps and I was able to run in shorts & short sleeves last night. :thumbsup2

Vicky, Not sure if we will be getting rain but the temps will be getting cooler. I can't believe your race is next weekend.

Margie, Thanks for the reminder on my race. Not feeling it for this race. Have you decided on any?

Connie, Hope you are having a better week & that things are working out for your DD.

Taking tonight off & will be out early for a 20 miler. Sunday will depend on the weather.

Have a great weekend..........Sue

Dave:hippie:

It is a no go at this time as we will be on the Disney Dream later during the month of January 2011, add to that a May Alaskan Disney Cruise and then pulling the pin on 060111, I hope.

Hi everyone and happy Friday! I am new to the forum and was placed on Team Hakuna Matata. :cool1:

I am new to running and am working on building up to running (at a comfortable pace) for 30 min. before I begin my half marathon training plan. My DH is very supportive and we signed up for the Wine and Dine which will be our first marathon. I am very excited!:yay:

Is anyone else planning to do the Wine and Dine in October? What other races have you all participated in? Any helpful tips for a newbie like me?

I am looking forward to getting to know you all.
Regina

HI Team!

Got a good workout in yesterday. Ran two miles to calibrate my Polar watch, ran six/walked one minute(s) for 3.3 and walked the last 1.7. Seven miles total. I got to wear shorts and long sleeves.:cool1:
Beautiful day today, filled holes in the front yard and picked up fallen branches from our tall maples.
Looking to sign up for a 5K in Decatur , Illinois next Saturday. The race is put on by John Bingham who wrote the book with the training program that I am following. It looks like a great scenic course, but I have to get off of work to do it. Wish me some left over Irish luck!

My next marathon is Boston, but my next race is the week before, I've entered a 15k to let me test the new adaptions.

:wave2:

I'm back!

Nick and I went for a walk today, a fabulous day up here in NH. We went about a mile around the area. A nice stroll with the df. After running around for Lent, lugging assorted fish. One day, I'm going to wear a pedometer to track how far I run around all day.

Mike Way to go on the weight loss.:woohoo:

You're be great in the 5K, but i'll send pixiedust: as well.

It's kirstie, there is a kirsty in WISH, but i think she is a rebel.

Hi y'all.

I did speed intervals this morning, 400m repeats average pace was 10 mpm. It was cold this morning but while I was working it got into the 70s. It was nice watching the collage girls in their shorts walk by the store, I love summer.pirate:

I'm going to bed early tonight and see if I can catch up a little more on my sleep. I need to get caught up by next week since I have my first half since Disney.

Have a restful night guys.
