Hakuna Matata-Happy April

Got the walls textured, did a fast 1.25 mile run, now off to Lowes, after a shower, home for lunch and then into the office for a fun filled afternoon of work.

I have to share my accomplishment with you guys. My very first race t-shirt and number!!!! :woohoo:

I have been thinking about doing this run, www.tuliprun.com for only about 20 years, and I finally, actually did it. My first step towards the Disney Marathon...5 miles down, 21.6 to go. :rotfl:

Good Going Dawn, Nice Run cobbler, I am here at work with three computers cooking away LOL

Dawn, that is awesome. Your first race is one you will always remember. You are officially a competetive athlete now.

Cobbler, good run.

Scott, I'm afraid to ask what you have on the three computers.

Anyone heard how the Detroit half went? Margie and DianeL went with Carrie.

Have a great evening y'all.

Happy Panda:hippie:

CONGRATULATIONS, Dawn! :cheer2:

Thanks, Lisa!
The Martian Half Marathon was Great. The weather was wonderful, but did get a bit warm for me at the end. No, after this winter I am not complaining.

It was so neat to finally be able meet the Michigan WISHers, Carrie, Scott, DianeL, Susan, Cathy, and Maura (Our very own Personal Great Course Cheer Leader) along with the New Yorkers Lynne & Erin!!!! A totally awesome group of Princess' and Carrie's Special Prince.

The course was a bit tough and HILLY! The Martian Marathon site information is up - said I had 3:10:55 for a 14:35 pace. My Garmin - it says I had 13.27 miles (I must have done something wrong) with average pace of 14.23 mph - average speed 4.2 mph. (?)

PB for Scott, Carrie, and I :cool1:

Feel great no achy muscles at this point.

Scott, Carrie, and I earned a long sleeve cotton shirt with a Martian head on the front for volunteering at the Expo Packet Picket Up Saturday. :thumbsup2

AWESOME MARGIE AND WISH TEAMERS, YOU GUYS DID GOOD!!!!!!

Humble Panda who wishes he could have gone to.:)

Happy Panda:hippie:

Good morning team!!!!

Congrats to all walkers and runners this weekend!!!!!

Our weather has finally took a turn for the better so it is sonice to get out for regular walks.

Hope you all have a great day

Kim

Wow, we are all getting back on track!!! Way to go everyone.

Did 2 miles yesterday and had a lot of neck pain this morning. Trying to cut my meds but will work it out with stretcing - it seems the only thing that works, as I'm sure you all know.

Brought my walking clothes with me to work so I can hop over to the track right after work. Sun is shining so it's a banner day!

Have a good one. All my trips and events are done until October so I am back on track. Ahhhhhh feels good to start up again. Honestly it can be 20 out but if the sun is shining, we can do anything!

Congrats Kids, Very Good Job, You Guys ROCK!!!!!!!!!

At work already, computers adn printers are humming. Pray for no paper jams, LOL

enjoy the day kids, looks like we are in for some more snow.

Fabulous Job, Wisher Team Hakuna Matata!!!

Everyone is doing so well. I am sure glad to know all of you! I always feel like I am in the company of champions!:cool1:

Just a little cross training today. I am going for another 10 mile long walk this week. Then I will begin my taper! Yay!!!

 Good morning, team!

Great job, Dawnie and Margie! :thumbsup2 Sounds like you raced well and had a great time, too!

I am walking after work today, so I hope the weather holds....last Monday after work was awful with the wind. Mornings are better. If only this darned work didn't interfere with my social and exercise schedule! Speaking of which, Scott, what IS it that you do that you are always working???

Good luck to Erica on Friday!

Congrats to everyone's outstanding race results and training.

Had great weekend weather here in Southern Ontario. Nice to run in a long sleeve T and short tights. I'm taking my chances and packing up the jackets, hats & mitts.

For me only 18 more training runs til the Minnie.
Have a great week.
Happy Training....Sue

Good Morning Team! Glad to hear that some of you are getting good weather (finally).

Congrats to Dawn and Margie!

Today it is snowing and blowing, but it is a cross training day (weights and pilates tape), so I do not have to brave the weather unless the dogs get too dinghy and need a walk. It might just be a short walk to the mailbox to pick up the morning paper (.84 mile), or it might not even be that! They might just get a car ride to the mail box (it looks really ugly out!).

Have a great day!

Wow Lynn you have a good workout for a normal person just getting the mail. You northern folk just amaze me. People around here don't cross the street unless they have a ride back. Maybe that's why we have a 60% obese rate and the highest pre capita percent on smokers.

Kathy you and Connie will do super at the OKC half. Go WISH warriors. Sue, wish we were doing the Minnie with you but you will have a lot of good wish company.

Margie and DianeL, you guys ROCK!!!!!!!

Scott How's it going buddy, looks like the princesses are coming on strong this month.

My workout felt wonderful, 3 miles on tready at 13:20 pace felt very easy and smooth, I think it's time to start doing my miles at 13 min per mile tomorrow, then about the end of the month I'll get back to doing 12s.

Good stretching and cals workout, as this I'm determined will be a nonegiotiable part of my routine from now on. Then a light weight routine and finally came home to do some push mowing.

Total for today 3 miles, 3 hours.

Have a strong day y'all.

I have to share my accomplishment with you guys. My very first race t-shirt and number!!!! :woohoo:

Congratulations!!!:cheer2:

Hope everyone had a good Monday! No running for me today but I did mow the lawn. Now that was a workout. Planning on hitting the treadmill tomorrow and Friday. Talk more later!

Kristen

How wonderful, Dawn! That is so exciting. :goodvibes I remember my first race because it was just last year on October 13. I did the 5K Race for the Cure and I was thrilled to finally have a bib and run for real :lovestruc

Way to go Margie on your PB :dance3: You were so lucky to go with a great group of wishers too! It is such a shame that I did not work harder to meet Lynn and Scott as we were milling about and might have seen each other.:confused3

Congrats to everyone for their runs. I am considering a 10K, I was invited by a group of runners I met at the Mercedes Half to register and run with them. I could consider it my last run for the Minnie since it is April 26. Do y'all think that is overdoing it or all right as a last longish prep run?

Thanks Everyone! :grouphug:

Still on a huge high from the Martian! :cloud9:
No sore muscle, but a little stiff, and tired today.

I did walk 2.4 slow miles with the little guys and their Mom's tonight. I told them they best plan on walking twice a week with the kids now that the weather is getting nice.

Thanks everyone for the congrats! Isn't it funny how 5 miles in a race seems so much cooler than 5 miles on a treadmill? ;) Maybe if someone was out there in my garage giving me a number every day, I would be more motivated.:lmao:

My next goal is one of my local 10k's. Hey that is only a mile and a little bit more right? Because I live in WA we have a lot of local festivals in the spring and summer that all have some sort of run. Like the one that I did, I have been wanting to run them all for years...I plan on doing them now! That should keep me in shape until I start training for the Disney Marathon.

Good job to those who did the half!:cheer2:

Did 3.5 miles at the track last night. Felt good to be out. Also did my stretches and weights. Keeping that neck in shape.

Have a great day. Sun is up again in NH and we should be in the 40's today.

Plan on the track or road tonight. Off tomorrow for some quality sewing time with friends. My goal this year is to balance it all not make my fun time suffer. I need to feel fabric not just powerwalk to keep me smiling.

Take care
