Hakuna Matata - April...and we're not foolin' around!

Hey guys!

Kim - So you guys have registered?!? GREAT news!! Excited for you guys! I remember the butterflies in my stomach oh so well from last year when I hit that button to submit!!

Rick - You will have a blast for Goofy!! I have whenever had such a fun running experience in my life. I was so pumped to actually have great friends to run with that a couple of times they had to tell me to shut up because I was chatting their ears off!! (Well...not in those words of course!)

LuzzBightyear - Congrats on your first Disney race! Goofy too?! Go big or go home right?! :woohoo:

Dave - I hope you enjoyed your cemetery walk. I always love looping though ours here in town. We have some very old graves out there. I know this sounds super creepy, but I love old names and I have been searching for inspiration for a new baby name, so sometimes while I'm running in the graveyard I look at all of the names to find one that jumps out at me. Yes creepy...I know. I suppose if I ever found one I'd have to keep that to myself so the kid wouldn't be messed up for life...lol

Emily - Great to see ya posting...I had wondered where you were. Congrats on some races on the calendar too :cheer2:

Tandy - Glad to hear Harrison is healed up! But sad that your sciatic is still bothering you. As far as the heat...you know how it goes...sucks in the beginning of the year that once you get acclimated it will get better. Just run safe...lots of water and salt tabs!

Regina - Your cheat day sounds like my whole week. I have such a hard time eating healthy when I have high stress. Some people lose weight when they are stressed...I turn to food for comfort. I have been shoveling it in for days now. I actually ate pizza last night and if that wasn't bad enough...I made cookie dough pie with ice cream last night and ate two slices. It was heavenly good...but man I regretted it after. I need to get back on track though. I have a vacation planned now...a Disney pool awaits me!

AFM: I am feeling better. He said two weeks for running...but I am thinking I might push it back to 3. I just feel like I am not healing as fast as I thought I would. Also...6 full weeks before I can get back to full activity....mainly lifting. So for the next 5 weeks I cannot puck up my son. THAT is the worst part. I also cannot do planks, pushups, weights at all for the 6 weeks. So I guess my plan of attack will be. Back on track for my eating (after Easter of course). Slow walking starting next week. Run/Walk intervals after that. Running by week 3. Keep that up through the 6 weeks then hit it hard with core and upper body for awhile. Then either one of two things...either I am pregnant or I plan a fall race!

Also...wanted to mention....my Wilderness Lodge trip is BOOKED!! I have dining in place for the most part. We have to shuffle a couple of things around...but we have Boma (dinner), Crystal Palace (breakfast), Biergarten (dinner), Sci-fi Diner (dinner) and Whispering Canyon (dinner). YAY!!! :yay:

Maybe subconsiously (sp) I need someone to make the decision for me....grrrrrr I just wonder how long that code will stay open

what code? all I saw was a discount for disney visa holders which I don't have - I'm jealous I would love to save $15 if I can still do it. is there a different code as well?

Rick - congrats on signing up!

Dave - cemetaries are one of my fave places to run - and one of my fave races - the stockadeathon in november, goes through a great one!

bunnyfoo - I will definitely write on your blog after I make it!

VillainRocks- I am a certified stress eater as well. Which I have been doing the past couple of weeks bc of my situation - thankfully though no weight gain (although no loss either) bc I've been running enough to compensate - but I definitely need to get it under control.

Hockeychic and LB- congrats for the sign up! I'm definitely sticking with the full and not goofy bc (a) money is a HUGE issue; and (b) I want to make sure I can still run around after my four year old in the parks which I don't think will happen if I do both runs!

So my runs have still been going well. AFter the ten miles on saturday, I took a rest on sunday but have run 5 miles each day on mon, tues, and today. planning to do the same th and fri, take this weekend off, and then a couple of long runs while in virginia next week to see my family. yeah!

Hi team! Nice to see that everyone is registering for the races and going Goofy to boot! Woo-hoo!

Kimberley - There's a large cemetary in the city that people like the run through. It's nice because in the winter, they have caretakers who shovel and salt the roads/sidewalks and it's easier to run there than it is on the city streets. Good job on all the running lately! Are you excited for your half this month :)

Eva - Yay for your upcoming Disney trip! I love WCC - do you get their bottomless milkshakes? I'm glad you're going to take it easy for now. You definitely don't want to push the recovery process. Are you hoping for a boy or girl this time?

The thought of sitting pool side in a bathing suit has me out at the gym more and eating better too!

Kim - :cheer2: Woo-hoo! You're doing Goofy! Congrats on registering! Has DH made a decision on a race?

Rick/Robbie - So glad you guys are doing Goofy too! It's going to be fun! We're going to have to organize another Kona Cafe/Tonga Toast carb loading breakfast :thumbsup2

Dave - Walking fast sure is tough! I've tried it a couple of times and I probably had the wrong form but found it was hard on my shins. Plus it was hard to maintain the line between walking and breaking out into a run! I am in awe that you're able to walk so fast :goodvibes

Tandy - Lots of pixiedust: for your back! Have you been to see a chiro or your doctor? Does a heat pack help at all? I think fixing the frosting was a fluke  I'm just envious of all the bakers who can get it right the first time without having to fix it. How did your scholarship interview go?

Regina - Sorry to hear about the pizza delay! That sucks. Same with the cake :( How was the Red Velvet? Was it enjoyable anyway? It's my favorite! Pizza and cake sounds like a pretty awesome cheat day :) And where does DH put all that food he's eating? LOL Good job on the core work and the 8 miler!!:thumbsup2 Are you looking forward to the Portland RnR?

AFM - I went for a 3 mile run last night. It was pretty good. I wore my tights again and I guess I'm going to have to start taping my knee when it warms up. The run was mostly pain-free except for the (full) container of cottage cheese that fell out of the fridge and onto my foot afterward. Ouch! Did I mention I'm a klutz?

Oh and I have my cupcake post up! It's the one where I fixed the butter cream LOL Check it out if you have time. They're easy to make if you want something to do over the long weekend. I promise to come up with some healthy recipes.

I have my class tonight and we're making chocolate pecan pie and I can't remember the other one. It should be fun :)

Anyone have plans for Easter weekend? Is Friday a holiday in the US?

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Let's talk resorts for January ... Where's everyone thinking of staying? Value? Moderates? Deluxe? DVC?

POP!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry not sure what the code is, used the active link I found on FB. Maybe someone more computer sauvey then me can post it.

I don't have a disney visa but last year and this year it has allowed people to register.

Kim

Vicky (and Mike):

TONGA! TONGA! TONGA! Yes, we definitely need to meet at Kona on Friday morning again. :goodvibes

Although I have never stayed there before, Pop Century sounds good to me too.

I am definitely up for Tonga Toast too, I had it almost every day during my trip last November. No wonder I put on almost 10 lbs that trip!

There was quite a few of us at Kona this past year it was great. Only problem was we didn't get to eat at the same table we where spread out between 3 tables.

No trip to disney is complete without Tonga Toast

Hey guys!

Kim - So you guys have registered?!? GREAT news!! Excited for you guys! I remember the butterflies in my stomach oh so well from last year when I hit that button to submit!!

I was the same way. I had all my info entered in and I just kept hovering over the submit buttons for HOURS... it was the last day before the price increase. Once I got the confirmation, I was like... "Oh My! This is real now!"

Everyone's included for Tonga Toast :) When we get closer to the 180 day reservation mark, I'll throw out a poll or two and we can figure out where we want to do the team meets.

Big welcome to KippWade :welcome: Come on in and make yourself at home!

Good morning team.

Wow I missed a lot of chat! I'm sticking to my original plan and just doing the full, shooting for a sub 5:30 time. I have a lot of competition next year and one race will be plenty, I don't need to be worn down by doing the back to back races.

We have decided to stay at a moderate, probably the Port Orleans or the Coranado, I don't care for the food court at the Caribbian Beach resort.

Training is going well but this is an easy recovery week from the 10 mile race last Saturday. I did a nice moderate level 6.5 miles yesterday and felt great so Friday I'll get after another PR at the 4 mile distance.

Hope everyone is doing good and happy and healthy.

Dave:hippie:

we rented points so got a really good deal to stay at BLT. If I still get to go! My dh is saying we still are, but he is always the optimist!

:cheer2: Weekend Racers :cheer2:

Good luck to Robbie and Emily! Can't wait to hear how your races went :) Hope they have some Easter goodies for you at the end!

I'm looking into Pop again. In January I was 3 doors down from where I stayed for the 2008 MouseFest! It was so weird. Speaking of which... my TA hasn't replied to my request yet :(

Some day... I'll stay in Contemporary. Ever since my first trip to WDW, I've always thought it was the coolest hotel because the Monorail ran THROUGH it! :)

We stayed there way back in 2000 with two adjoining rooms. It was very cool! We just had to buy the monorail train set for Ryan (he was 2.5yrs old at the time). With the monorail right there in the hotel, it kinda brings the magic right into the building!

Robbie and Emily: Have a great race this weekend! Go out and Run Happy!!

AFM: Today I got in a good 4.93 miles. Including the warm-up/cool-down, the pace was 9:41/mm but the 4.39 mile run segment came in at 8:58/mm. It felt pretty good (it was definitely chilly outside today) and kept my cadence at around 88.

It is supposed to freeze overnight (down in the 20s) so I am happy Friday is a Rest Day. I figured I would focus my Good Friday on something other than running. But first thing Saturday morning is my Long Slow Run -- 12 miles. This will be the last 'long' Long Run for the month of April because of tapering for the Illinois Half Marathon in 3 weeks.

I also have a Long Walk on Sunday (10 miles). So by Sunday night, I will have logged 48 miles so far in April! I think this will be my first 100+ mile month! Is that crazy or what!??

Hi, everyone,

Sorry for the long absence from the boards. Work has finally slowed down to the normal pace and I'm no longer working day and night to keep up. :thumbsup2

I am still not able to run so I didn't make my last race. I'm out for my next one too but I hope to make one in early June. My PT seems to think that I'll be back to normal by then. I'm going to try another run tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed!

Eva: Hope you continue to heal and are back to your running soon.

Vicky: I love your blog! My girls love the recipes too and are checking for your latest posts.

Robbie and Emily: Happy running this weekend!

Kimberly: I really hope you can make it to Disney in 2013. Hope the running is going well.

Dave: I've been keeping up with you on facebook. You amaze me!

Tandy: Hope the interview went well and that you hear about the nursing program soon. Pixie dust for the sciatic nerve!

Rick, Kipp, Robbie, and Kim: Glad to see your training is progressing and that you are doing well. Am I correct that you are all Goofy in 2013?

~Elizabeth

Glad to see you back Elizabeth - thanks for the warm wishes and I hope you are out racing soon!

Rick - that's great about 40 miles already! I forced myself up this morning to run even though it was chilly - 32 degrees. I completed another 5.13 mile run (that's my loop), so in the past seven days, I've run a total of almost 36 miles which I'm very pleased about. next two days are rest, my five+ mile loops monday and tuesday and another 10-12 mile run either th or fr while I"m in virginia.

Good luck to Robbie and Emily this weekend!:yay: Have a blast! Everyone else enjoy your weekend as well!
