I have such a hard time loading the DisBoards with it being very slow-loading. Usually only at work but sometimes at home too. Makes tying to catch up really annoying! /rant
Kim: I'm in for *grumble*Goodlife*grumble* and the Women's Niagara. I'm still debating on mudruns in general but I'll take a look at the one you mentioned in Uxbridge (I have no idea where that is!). It'd be cool if you could do the Midsummer one with Vicky (and most likely me). Oh, and the grumble is nothing to do with the race, just the name Goodlife. They and I have history, not pleasant history, that means I won't ever join their gyms again.
Ugh, I really hate standing on one foot (like lunges) exercises without pain. I can't imagine doing them with PF.
Tandy: You and me both. I need to work on my running before I work on my flame jumping, I think. I'm sure you're going to rock the Honors! Sounds like your arm routine is great! I've never really considered Zumba but I may have to the way you're recommending it.
You're inspiring me to want to go back to school for a degree in something that will lead me onto a career path that will satisfy me.
You and I have the same favourites (Italian foods) so I feel your pain. Cutting out on grainy-carbs is something I just can't seem to pull off.
Sue: Thanks for the car tip about the zoo race. I'm still debating on that one, but I'll definitely keep that in mind if I sign up for it. I was last to the zoo when I was 5 so um... my memory of the place is sketchy at best, lol.
Elizabeth: I'm glad you're cleared to run again. Remember to pace yourself though. We want to see you being able to compete for many years to come.
Vicky: Your beignets looked delicious! I might break my no-sweets and no carbs rule for them.
I'd love to work on speed before Disney in January 2013 so I might pare it back a bit. Right now I'm thinking of a race a month or so, depending on length. That doesn't seem too bad and offers a little wiggle room in terms of recovery and maintenance. Not all of us can be Mike, I guess.
What did your trainer say about the obstacles? I find trainers are prone to insanity, myself, so I'm sure he just shrugged and said "no biggy!".
I'd love to make it down to a 10 minute mile by January.
Oh, that's so sad that the leader wasn't correcting the forms, especially on planks. Those can be terrible if done wrong. And I know what you mean about having worked with people so the forms are well known to you. I always cringe when I see people working alone at the gym, knowing that they aren't quite right. I often point things out and ask my trainer if there's something wrong there, just so I can at least learn from others and avoid mistakes when on my own. She also has me doing rowing on a machine and I have to say I really struggle with keeping my breath steady. I'm sure the actual thing is much more challenging!
I'm with you on cleaning up the eating. My trainer has said I need to work on that to get over the plateau I'm at. I have the muscle there but the fat stores aren't going because I'm still grain-carbing and sugar-carbing too much. I just really struggle with veggies and particularly getting enough to eat while at work. Any tips you come up with, I'd love to hear!
Kim/Vicky: Road trips are awesome! DBF is on board for having a Saylan-free weekend. Now to find out if my friends mind me missing the WD.
Though, if we start calling ourselves the Three Canadian Cabelleros, can I be Donald? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease?

I totally have his temper so it's perfect!
Robbie: Belated Welcome from one Canadian to another (and there's so many of us in here now)! My bff recently moved from Halifax where she was studying at Dalhousie. I was always jealous of her being able to live on the east coast. Those provinces are so lovely!
We're like the Haunted Mansion, there's always room for more! You may find you're not nearly as solo as you thought. As you get used to us, I'm sure you'll find we're horribly caring and devoted to our members.

Team meets are optional, but I'll speak from experience that I feel I missed out when I couldn't make it to them this year. This is a great bunch of people.
Grats on sticking to your resolutions. It's not easy!
AFM: I'm struggling, as I mentioned above, with cleaning up my eating. I'm finding I can't seem to cut out the grain-based carbs as much as I need to and I can't find an easy way of bringing more vegetables into my meals. I'm making progress on my level of weights but I can't seem to get my weight to budge (it went up about 5lbs between Disney and Christmas). It's really really frustrating.

I'm not really about the weight, but more about the toning and I hate that I can't seem to get this right (even though I'm also painfully aware it's a fair bit to do with my stress and hormone issues lately).
I registered for the *grumble*Goodlife*grumble* and the Niagara Inaugural Women's Half in June so those can be added if you want to, Vicky. I might wait on Midsummer until the next credit card billing cycle. I was disappointed to see over 15$ in processing fees/taxes on the Niagara race.
There's a race weekend locally in mid-April at which I was hoping to do a half but I might cut it back to the 10K just to ease back into things. I have until really close to the race date to register so I'm playing it by ear right now.
Also, a good argument for running? My father (61) was carded trying to buy alocohol in Arizona.

First time in over 40 years, and it only happened after he did his first race. If that doesn't encourage people to keep up with their running, I dunno what will. Apparently, Ontario licenses aren't considered valid ID at Target, either.
We saw an ad for the Brazil Butt Lift work out videos while we were at Riverside in January and (in true DBF style), DBF unprompted said "You definitely need to try that!". I swear he suffers from perma-foot-in-mouth disease! Anyway, we got back, he downloaded it, and I've been trying it on my non-trainer days. The first couple of days? Let me just say, 'Ouchie'. My poor tush! These are definitely not beginner videos, no matter how they market it, and like Vicky's dragonboat boot camps, unless you've spent some time learning how to isolate, you won't get nearly as much out of it. If you have, they will probably leave you with very sore muscles, at least the first time through.
And apologies to anyone on FB who may have been offended by my driving rant, also. I used some harsh language but I was seeing red by the time I got home. I hope no one was upset by it.
