I would like to have my daughters first hair cut done in the barbershop on Main Street. Does anyone know how to get an appointment?

The Main Street Barber Shop does not take appointments. It is first come, first serve. There are only 2 chairs in the barbershop, so they lines can get long, although I've heard going around lunchtime is a good time to go. We had my nephew's first haircut there and we waited in line about 35 minutes. He got his certificate and mouse ears and it was VERY cute! They do a good job too!

The lines seem to vary throughout the day. We have been there when no one else was waiting (around 11:00) and we have also seen over one hour waits at the same time.

We have also seen people who get an early PS for Crystal Palace the day they want the haircut. Then when they are done eating, they go stand in line so they can be the first ones in when the park opens.

We tried to get DD a Princess hairdo for her B-day in February. The line was soooo long we finally gave up and told her we would do it another time.
I would say get to the park very early and go right to the Barber Shop.

Go EARLY! BF and I went first thing one morning during Easter Week and walked right in... It was great. Granted he's 26, but he still got the colored hair gel... he refused the "Pixi Dust" though, and I was upset about this, so the woman sprinkled the pixi dust on me instead. Hehe. :earboy2:

Wow! WE did this recently and had no line at all! I asked about an appointment in the morning on our way to the Crystal Palace. The barber said to return during the parade for the shortest line. It just happened that we did indeed, return just before the start of the parade. There was no line at all!

What was better, was that we came out just as the parade was starting. We're normally not big parade people, and my daughter isn't a big hat person (or rather, wasn't), but we finished just as Mickey was coming by. At first my daughter was trying to get her ears off, but then Mickey pointed to her in the crowd (he was pointing to all the kids w/ Mickey ears)! As little as she is, she squealed with joy, and delighted in watching the rest of the parade from her perch on Dad's shoulders - clapping and wearing her Mickey ears the whole time. It was dad's favorite part of the trip. :sunny:
After the parade, the ears came off. But now that we are home again, she enjoys wearing them sideways. :earsgirl:

Thanks everyone! It sounds like we won't have a problem getting her haircut. I was expecting a half day or more wait. I really like the idea about the Crystal Palace PS. That would make the day even more magical. She just turned 5 and has never had her haircut. We wanted to wait until she was going to start school. She is our third child after her two big brothers and she is our last baby. I'll be sad to kiss those baby locks goodbye. It's an end of a chapter in our lives. Having it done will make it much easier while I'm in my favorite place in the world!!! Thanks again to eveyone!!! :goodvibes

I love those unplanned, wonderful moments in life. I have experienced more of those at WDW than anywhere. That's why we keep going back!!

Our DD had very little hair when she was born and after a couple years, she had enough to get it cut. Her first and all additional haircuts have been at MK barber shop. She loves all the attention and getting the pixie dust when the cut is done.
