Hair Wraps?

I love these things!! Even though I am 3? (all right, all right,, I'll be 40 soon!!) Who care!! I had mine done last summer at POR. It took her a long time, I have very long hair (all the way down my back) and it cost me over $50 with the tip. I loved it. I left it in for almost 4 months. By the time I took it out, it had grown out about 4 inches. I did see the station by POC in MK though. It seems its still there!

good luck!!

My daughter got a hair wrap done on our trip last fall. When she got back to school all of her friends made such a big deal about it and how cool it was. Well she had a dolphin at the end of the wrap. One day while she was sitting at the lunch table at school she was getting up and she got the braid stuck between the table fold and ripped it out of her head. I got a call at work from the school nurse letting me know and her head was bleeding. Just tell your children to be careful with them. My daughter is thinking about getting another done this week when we go back. I'm hoping we will have better luck this time :-)

DD still has hers in! :D Will be 2 months in a week or 2. We cut out the last one (underneath type) and will cut this one out after she wears it to school about a week. She wants another when we go in Nov. It is no biggie to cut the underneath ear ones out-not much hair at all. I don't let her get the charms for the reasons stated above-they scare me. She did get a pretty bead in the middle though. And YES, you see them-she pulls it forward or just hanging down the bead portion shows. I think they are more durable underneath. Quite a conversation starter for her too ;) .

Yet another "MUST DO" added to my list.

I have always wanted to do this and I know my DD - 4.5yo will want to also. I think we'll be matching ones.

Tell me...

Do you get just 1 or 2 wraps done?

Does anyone ever get their whole head done?

We'll just get 1 each.

Thanks for the info.

1 wrap is all DD has had at a time, and all I have seen!:D Would take a week to do the whole head and cost thousands:p . It truly is a highlight of the trip for her, and a special souvenir. She gets them at the resort we stay at. Make sure to take a little video and several pictures of it being done. I put the pictures, the info sheet, and the cost in her Creative Memories book. She also puts her cut-out wraps on her bulletin board. Enjoy!:D

We did hair wraps last year at Boardwalk, braids at the top of the head only at Vero in August '02 and this week I splurged and let them get full heads of braids (top to bottom) at the salon at the Beach Club. It looks great, will last a long time and I won't have to cut the wrap out like I did last year.

I have a question about the braids. My daughter wants to get them done but i am kind of iffy about it.
How long does it take (she has hair alittle past her shoulder and not thick.
Is it hard to take out???
How much does it cost?

There are several kinds of braids done including the top half of the hair with and without beads, and then the full head of hair where the top is close to the scalp and then there are 10-12 smaller braids left flowing down the back of the head.

In Vero they charged us something like $5-8/braid and I remember the total being around $90 for two girls with half heads of braids. The Beach Club was full service salon and each girl's full head of braids cost $108. It was an outrageous amount to pay, but we had a rather rough week weather wise which reduced our time in the parks and we had a pin trading bag stolen in the MK......so this was to make up for that. I honestly didn't have time to make calls to places outside the world. I'm sure it's cheaper off-site.

The process itself took 60-90 minutes, but that was because they did the full head at my daughter's request. The top half of the head of braids would have only taken 45 minutes to an hour.

Last fall the braids lasted a good month or more and came out very easily. I expect that we'll get close to that out of these. These braids were really done very well and the pattern the stylists made while making the braids is really pretty. My older daughter's stylist has the braids going sideways across her forehead...which is really different.

This was a special treat for them. I've already told them not to expect the same next April. If they want it done then, they'll have to pay for it out of their own $$$. We'll see what happens.
