Hi all. We have not been to the parks since 2001 and at that time, my daughter had a hair wrap does at Blizzard Beach. Do they have hair wrapping at other parks? I do not know if we have time for BBN this time, as we are only doing 4 days at the parks, 3 day cruise.

If anyone can help me with this question, I would be most appreciative!

Thanks

Hi,

We just got back and my daughter got her hair wrapped at the Disney Boardwalk. I also saw hair wrapping stations at Downtown Disney and I'm pretty sure at MGM. Hopefully someone else can tell you forsure about the parks. They seem to be very popular!!!

Is "hair-wrapping" all the tiny braids?? We're a little slow to catch on up here in Maine...

No, it's not all the tiny braids. They take a small section of hair either from the top of the head or behind the ear and wrap it with 4 colors of thread and put decoratative beads at the end. My daughter loves hers!!!

I stayed at ASSp last summer and they had a station there during my stay.

Just returned from our trip and DD had hers done in front of the souvenir shop when you exit PoC.

I had mine done at the Animal Kingdom last December...
If your child has long hair, beware...the wraps can get pretty pricey...I have long, very curly hair, and my wrap cost me almost $50...

BUT, I loved it and everyone went "oooooh your hair is sooooooo long" lol

:bounce:

Thanks everyone! Question for Mathgeek - Do you know if they had the hair wrap stations at all of the All Stars? We are staying on 8/23 at the All Star Movies.

Thanks, Kathy

When we stayed at AS Sports they were set up at the pool.
My dd loved hers too.

Have fun,
Hope

I hate to put a damper on everyone's enthusiasm, but a note of caution.

My DD got a hair wrap in her long hair (about 10"). When they put it in, they tie a knot at the end of each color to keep it tight. She had it in for about 3 weeks after our trip. The wrap had become so tight, that we could not "simply snip the knots" and unravel the thread as the removal instructions stated. There was also no way to just slice the threads since it was started so close to her head. After working on it for about 3 hours one night trying to get it out, we ended up having to cut the whole thing out hair and all.

While we were at the Movies resort they were set up by the pool...

And as far as cutting them out of your hair, Ive had TONS of wraps put in my hair, Heck Ive even Learned how do it, (Pretty easy) Yes you might have to cut it out, but Its SO few hairs, Ive never seen it to be noticible on any girl...

Again - thanks to all for the help! My DD had a wrap at Blizzard Beach in 2001 and the strands of hair used for the wrap were taken from underneath most of her hair behind her ear. After 3 weeks, I cut it out. Because it was not on the top of her head, it wasn't so bad cutting it out. We also cut the charms off the wrap and used them on a bracelet made from a craft kit.

Our oldest DD (12) loves the hair wraps! She was nine on our last trip and had it done the first full day we wre at ASM...and it was MONTHS before we convinced her it really needed to come out. And now it has a proud spot in her WDW 2000 photo album.

DOes anyone know if they sell a wrap that is done with a tiny clip at the top, so you can take it on an off whenever you want?

Hi! We stayed off-site at the Marriott -Viilage in LBV. Our pool had a hair-wrap stand and it was 50cents cheaper per inch than in the parks. They DID sell the clip-on ones, because our guy said he had learned to hair-wrap by making them! This is what he told us just before he informed us that we were his first customers!! He did a great job and we just removed them after two months.

Ditto on the hair wrap stand next to Pirates at MK. It takes awhile, though...we did ours on arrival day so we didn't waste time. DD does have a place, but I can't remember exactly where. HAVE FUN!!

Can you get just one wrap? How much does that usually cost? And how long woudl that take?

My daughter is only 5, but loves those thinsg and asks if she can get one every tiem we see them anywhere. She has very fine blond hair and I'm afriad it will eb really notcieable if we have to cut out any of her hair!

We'll be at AKL in a few weeks. We were there in May and I don't remember seeing it there.

Her friend got her hair completely braided during spring break soemhere in Orlando and it satyed foever it seemed. BUT, when they neeeded to take it down she cried and cried. Chunks of her hair came out. My daughter woudl ahve been bald if that happnned! :o

My daughter starts school a couple weeks after we get back. I wonder how hard it woudl be to atek it out after just a couple weeks?

Yes, I bought 4 at the Animal Kingdom, and I have seen them at other hair wrap stations. If they don't have them at the one you are near, ask the CM where you can get them. BTW I am 50 and love them! I may go for the real thing this year, but the clip ons are a little less expendise if I am remembering correctly.
