I hope this is the right place to post this question!
My DD wants a hair wrap done while we are at DW next month. She had one done last year at POFQ but we are staying offsite this time. I don't remember seeing the booths at the parks but I am sure they were there. Do they do wraps at the Barber Shop in MK? We'll be at BB one day, is there a place there? I only remember a tatoo place from last year.
Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to spend a lot of time looking for a booth once we are there.
Thanks in advance! pooh:

I know Animal Kingdom has a hair wrap stand outside the big store near the Tree of Life. My niece got her wrap there.

I know the other parks have them too, when we went I called the front desk at our hotel and she connected me to someone who told me where all the hair wrap locations were in the parks. I'm pretty sure the hair wrap stand in MK is in Adventureland.

I have to say, I thought the wrap was a little expensive at first, but we were there in May, my niece got her wrap May 9th and no kidding, it JUST came unraveled 4 days ago! Plus she absolutely LOVED hers, so it was worth the money!

This has become one of the things that DD looks most forward to. She still has hers in now that she got the first week of May...not bad at all for a 5 year old. Shockingly, it still looks as good as the day she got it, excepts you can tell now where her hair is starting to grow out some.

My dd wants to do this too. Any idea how much it costs-just curious. Thanks!

It's like, $? to start, then $1 per inch, then xxx amount of dollars depending on what beads you want. DD's hair was right to her shoulder blades at the time and hers was around $35.

Do they braid all the hair? Or just partically? My DD had one in January in a beach, but it was only for the top of the head and we loved it, I don't think I would want them to braid all the way! too long...

This is for wraps, not braids. It's where they take a little strand of hair and wrap colored thread around the hair, interspersed with pretty beads.

I've started doing these for DD at home. It's not too hard to do, but I have to admit, mine don't look quite as nice as the ones the pros do. But it's hard to beat the price (mine cost me about 80 cents, the price of two packs of embroidery floss, since I already had the beads).

I think the last time I had it done for DD (at POR back when it was Dixie Landing!), it cost about $35 and her hair was shoulder length and she didn't get any of the special beads.

DD got her hair wrap this April at Pop Century, near the Hippy Dippy Pool. They charge by the inch, but I don't remember how much. You also have to pay extra for the beads. They range from 50 cents to $5.00 each. DD has hair half-way down her back and it came to $32.00, but I made her get the cheap beads. This stand was only open mid-afternoon and evenings.

I also saw a hair-wrap stand at Animal Kingdom and I thought there was one at DD.

It may pay to call ahead and ask about locations for the stands and the times they are open.

oh! I haven´t seen that! Does anyone have a picture? I know my DD would love that! (or having the gel in her hair at MK...) :cloud9:

In 2004 they had a hair wrap stand at POTC, that is where my dd got hers done. There was a stand at TL as well.

We were going to get one for my dd when we stayed at AKL but it would have been about $50 for her hair (it's down to her rear end). I learned how to do it from a kit she got at the school's book fair (why buy books when you can get a hair wrap kit :) ) and it's not hard at all. Mine don't look as nice as the pro's either but like someone else said, it's much cheaper. I'm going to do one in dd's hair right before we go. She's really excited about picking the colors, etc. and we're going to try to find some Mickey Mouse beads/charms to add in. Those hair wraps are so cute!

My daughter had her wrap done at the stand in Animal Kingdom.

I just want to say that this was the greatest souvenier for her. As she was only 3 and has chin length hair hers was only about $20 but what value!! Her wrap was put in on October 5th and I finally cut it out (yes, hair and all-it will go in the scrapbook) February 14th!!! It had grown out an inch or two but I left it in until the hair started to peek out of the middle of the wrap. She just loved that thing and learned how to make it 'helicopter' around her head.

I will say that my neighbor girl had her wrap done at the Port Orleans resort somewhere and it fell out within a couple of weeks. Hers seemed thicker and more loosely wrapped than the one we had done in AK.

My DD9 had her done at Pop in June and it was $1.50 per inch, plus the cost of beads. Her hair is long (cutting before school starts for "Locks of Love") her total was $35.00.

:woohoo:

My DD5 got one done while we were at Disney Boardwalk. There was a stand near Spoodles. It costs $1.50 per inch plus optional beads.

My dd 8, gets one every year when we go. She has always had it done at WL , this time we saw a lady doing them outside of POC. We were there in Feb and it came out of her hair last week!! Now we have to go back.

By the way she has really long hair and it costs around $30.00, I tip around $5.00.

DD5 had her's done at CBR in early June. It was $1.50 per inch plus beads and spacers. The CM doing the hair wrapping did it starting behind her ear from underneath. DD has fine shoulder length hair. It cost about $16 dollars with the beads and spacers.

It came out this morning and the world stopped spinning :sad2: . She was so crushed. When she stopped crying she insisted we head back to Disney right away to get her hair wrapped again. She'll have to wait until April when we return for 6 days at WDW followed by a cruise.

The last time I went to the water parks, they had people doing the wraps there.

Is there a hair wrap station at the Animal Kingdom Lodge?

As for pictures, I don't have any but if you do a search I'm sure you'' find some pictures because I've seen them posted in other threads on the DIS.
