Leaving next week (Hooray!!). Is hair styling mousse, larger than 3 oz., OK to bring on plane in carry on? I know all about the gels, liquids, aerosols, etc. in 3 oz. containers in 1 ziploc bag. I'm guessing mousse will be OK since its none of those 3. Any help??

I don't use hair mousse but from what I have seen of it, it is liquid inside the container, is it not? I strongly suspect that it qualifies as a liquid or a gel. The terms are referring to the consistency of the product.

I would say it's liquid. I buy a trial size at the store for trips, less than 3 oz.

if my inhaler is a "LIQUID" :scared1: then the mousse is too! (BTW, DS lost $35 worth of mousse in Savannah airport last November; I wouldn't try it!)

Isn't mousse in an aerosol can? The liquid turns into a foam, which would need *something*. I am not well versed in the science of mouse though.

Points taken. Thanks. BTW, I also have a Proventil inhaler. Didn't even think of that. But doesn't that count as "medicine"? Should I separate it from my zippie and just declare it?

yep, inhaler is a liquid. I've accidentally had it in my pants pocket  ; good thing I got a second chance walk through on the people scanner! I'm so paranoid about running out, I keep a 2nd one in my carryon. Well, that bag has gotten pulled aside to be hand checked so many times - and I'm sure it's b'c of that inhaler! - that I've finally decided to pull the inhaler out of my pocket and put it in a baggie with my other Rx meds. Of course, the TSA agent says you don't have to declare this and I say, that's alright; just keeping it all together in one place; thanks! Works 4 me.
