This is something I have wondered about for a long time. And if the answer is so simple it is a DAH, please be kind.
When I was younger, decades ago, we washed our hair once a week. If you had a hot date on Saturday night, you washed your hair either Thursday or Friday, beause it did not look its best on the day you washed it.
Then along came a marketing strategy that instantly doubled shampoo sales. They simply printed lather, rinse, REPEAT on all the bottles. And like good little lemmings we obliged.
And now today, we shampoo our hair and it only stays clean for hours.
I have been told it is the pollution in the air. But it seems to me that enough pollution to dirty up my hair in hours would have killed me off years ago.
So what is it? Is our hair so different ? Or is shampoo simply made to have limited cleaning ability? Does anyone know? Does everyone know, and I am the only dummy?
