Hi,

I just found this board, and I was hoping to get some help. I am having an escape wedding on 7-10-2009, and I am in the process of looking for someone to do my hair and makeup.

I am SUPER nervous about getting this done on the day of my wedding with no trial run!!!

For those of you who have done this, how did it work out? How did you plan what you wanted with the stylist? How did they know what colors (makeup) to bring?

I just want to look good on my wedding day, and I'm so worried that since I won't be able to do a practice run or anything, something will go wrong, and that I'm so far away that I won't even be able to speak to anyone in person until my wedding day.

So I'm seeking some reassurance, or suggestions on what to do! Also, any recommendations on who I should contact?

Thanks so much

I'm not doing a trial run with our hair/makeup artist. We're using Beaute Speciale and there's a thread floating around here about girls being pleased without trials. I'm a bit nervous too but I'm completely confident that they'll do a great job. I'm bringing pictures of how I'd like my hair, etc. for guidance. As for the make-up, if you have more than one girl getting make up done, my guess is that they'll have to bring all different shades/colors because all the girls will most likely have different complexions and hair color...need to be prepared! :)

I hope this helps. :)

Thank you, that is helpful. I've contacted Beaute Speciale and plan to book them. Anyone have a link to that thread? Any horror stories about not doing a trial run? Or reassurances?

I'm trying to decide if I should schedule a trial session the day before. I'd rather not spend the extra money, but I'm worried that it's too important to leave to chance!

I think if the look you want is different from the kinds of looks shown on your makeup artist's website, you might want to consider doing a trial run.

Otherwise, bring an inspiration picture or two and ask the cosmetologist to come early enough that you have extra time to change things if you don't like the way you look. Any of the vendors you choose will be happy to change/fix their work if you don't like it - you just need to have enough time!
