PLEASE NOTE: The hair dryers on the Magic (currently -hope they change this with the renovations) and on the Wonder are the type that are hard-wired to the wall and are located in the bathrooms. They are like a wand type hair dryer. They are not that strong and will more than likely not be enough for those with thicker, longer hair.

The good hair dryers everyone talks about are on the Dream and Fantasy. These are stand alone hair dryers (meaning you physically plug them into the wall - similar to what you would have at home) and are located in a drawer at the desk area. They have a specific outlet and work fantastic when plugged into the correct outlet. They are weak if you have them plugged in the wrong outlet. These hair dryers also have a diffuser if needed.

Just don't want anyone going on the classic ships to think they'll be getting a great hair dryer. I would still bring my own if sailing on either of these ships.

The hair dryers on the classic ships are AWFUL. I've always brought my own. The ones on the new ships are regular hair dryers and are awesome. They plug in to an outlet at the desk in front of the mirror.

Now, big question - did they convert the ones on the Magic??? Crossing fingers that they did but we don't know yet.....

I just have to repeat everyone's warning about the dryers on the Wonder. I have ~ shoulder-length hair that I blow upside down and leave curly, so it doesn't require much heat or strength. I figured the dryer would be ok--how bad could it be? The poster who mentioned letting your hair dry in the breeze about summed it up. I liken it to someone blowing on your hair. I went with wet hair the entire cruise because it was absolutely futile to even try to use the hair dryer.

But the dryers on the Fantasy and Dream: excellent! At least as good as my home dryer, which is a pretty good dryer.

I thought the hair dryers on Fantasy were great. The hot setting was really hot and it dried my hair quickly. It's full size. Not small like most hotels.
