Ok. So, I have a silly question...When you get your hair done for this big day...Do you wash your hair or not that morning??? Silly question I know...but a friend of mine use to do pagents and her hair dresser always said not to wash her hair the day of these events. I don't remember why...but this got me curious...
Also, I can't help it...my hair gets washed everyday. I work out everyday-every other day and I can't stand greasy hair!!!

So, do you wash your hair on your wedding day or not??? :upsidedow

I've heard that not washing can help with styling -- a little bit of grease helps hold the curl and its not so frizzy (I have VERY thick hair, and after I wash the humidity makes me frizztastic, but after a day it seems to mellow out). I dunno. :confused3 Any other opinions?

I know everyone says this - but it is simply not for me! Even by the end of the day, my hair is stringy and oil. My scalp is VERY oil so I have to wash it everyday. I've been told that washing it everyday causes an oily scalp - but it's just not the case with everyone! You can see straight through to my scalp if I don't wash my hair because it gets so ick.

I think what it basically comes down to is your comfort level. :)

I washed it the night before and had my mom blow it dry so it was nice and straight for Ana to work with :)

I usually have to wash my hair every day too...can't stand it when it hasn't been washed. But I think I'll do what Amanda did. Wash it the night before.

When I've had updos done my hairdresser has always told not to wash my hair....It keeps the frizz down and provides for a sleeker updo.

I would probably stay away from washing your hair the day of the wedding and do what PrincessBride010103 did and wash it the night before.

I have heard the same thing about not washing it that day. I think that if you wash it the day before you should be fine unless your hair really gets super oily. I plan to wash it the night before.

It really depends on your hair type. If your hair is straight and gets oily fast i would suggest washing it. If its on the thicker curly coarser side you could get away with washing it the day before...
another thing to think about is if your in a disney park the day before and you dont wash it your hair will smell all out-doorsy. You might want to be herbal essence fresh on your wedding day! :rotfl:

I also agree with the plan of washing your hair the night before. Unfortunately, with my thick hair and the color of it, any grease just stands out horribly so I have to wash it or at least rinse it every day. In the past whenever I've had an updo, the stylist always told me to wash it the morning of and make sure it's completely dry by the time she works with it.

Washing it the night before and drying it the morning of if necessary sounds like it will work out just fine. Good luck! :bride:

I am totally washing my hair the morning of the wedding. No way am I going to have stinky hair on my wedding day. I am even going to put the mousse I usually use in it as well because that seems to be the only way my hair will hold a style.

I think you know your hair better than anyone else so do what feels natural to you.

Ask your stylist what she prefers for your style. I think it depends on what style you want and what your hair is like. I just washed mine before bed (at 1 am) then got up a 3 am and dried and straightened the perm out while drying it, so it would be ready for the hot rollers when Ana arrived a 4 am.

from what i recall

they told me to either wash the night before or if i washed in the morning to let it air dry with NO product in my hair

i love morning showers so i went with that & let it air dry & my hair came out great

but i agree...ask the stylist:goodvibes

I was told to have hair that had not just been washed. I like to wash my hair every day otherwise my hair gets really greasy. I actually washed my hair the night before and by the time Ana styled my hair and sprayed it my hair was perfect and not greasy.

I am using Janet from Onsite Beauty. She told me to have my hair washed and dry for when she arrives. Any other time I was always told to not wash, but my hair(and face) get greasy extra fast so there is no way I wouldn't wash my hair. I think that tip works best for people with thick hair maybe?

I was told by Beaute Speciale for my trial next week to wash and dry my hair as I normally would.

I know for prom (over 10 years ago!) when I had an updo they wanted unwashed hair but that is not what my stylist said for next week.

I Washed And Dried Mine The Day Of The Wedding Prob Ably Around 9am. Ana Came At 1:30 And The Wedding Was At 7:30. I Had An Updo And It Stayed All Night!
Trust Me When I Say My Hair Normally Never Holds A Curl But It Did Great!!! Back In High School For Prom I Was Told Dirty Hair Worked Best, But I Had No Prob On My Wedding Day!!

I always cringed at the thought of having unwashed hair at my wedding...it'd be stinky! Anyway, I washed my hair in the morning and put it in a bun to air dry. We got ready starting at 2, and my ceremony was at 7pm.

My Mom who's a stylist prefers to have hair slightly dirty in order to keep an updo in place. Disney Cosmo who did my hair said to wash and dry it before they came. My updo was sleek so it worked well. No way would she get any curls to stay in my hair if it was freshly washed.

Depends on your hair type. Ask a pro first. My hair is super fine and they said wash it cause otherwise all the oils will just weigh it done. They can always "dirty" it up with a little texturizer and stuff if need be but it really does depend on your hair type and what you are having done to it.
