My DD got her hair braided the last time we were in Florida {in IOA} it cost so much but I didn't really think about it till we were on the plane home, that was 4 years ago . My problem is that we are going in Feb. and she has said that she wanted to have it done again can not pay $160.00 {could have been more} is there any where that does this other then the parks?? Staying at Cypress Pointe not onsite. We were without DH last time this time DH will be with us so I really don't think he will go for it, so if anyone could help her get what she wants that would be just great. thanks :flower3: :earsgirl: :sad1:

Wow! That was a lot. I personally don't know of anyplace specific. I know that quite a few of the resorts do it.

My DD has gotten braids (on cruises) but we did the "headband braid" which was under $50 both times. Really cute with beads. Would that be an option for you? It's cheaper!

I myself did the headband braid and that was around $60.00 I really don't remember but it wasn't $50 wish it was. I could go to an island and I heard that they do it on the beaches for the whole head $50. I could not believe it ! But she loved it, looked really good with the beads. So easy when they don"t have to brush their hair every time they go into the pool. Thanks for the input. Anyone else have any ideas?? ::MinnieMo :flower3:

We get my dd's done before we go! It is so much cheaper and we do it the day before we leave. She doesn't always get to keep it in the whole trip, but it works for a while..and it IS easier with all the in and out of the pool.

Perwig salon at the beach club resort does this. I would check with them , my dd got her crown done for around 60.00 i think the whole head was around 100.00.

If you want to have it done before you go, try your local beauty school. Ours is very cheap ($10 hr) and you can bring in the beads yourself.

My DD got her hair braided on CityWalk last year for around 50-60

I would love to know where you go to get this done! We are in the Milwaukee area...anywhere close? When we were there last January my girls got their hair done. I would love to save some money this time!

Wow! I had no idea it cost that much to have your hair braided!!
I am glad my DDs didn't ask.

my daughter really wanted the threaded wrap whatever that she kept seeing the kids etting at the beach. It was so expensive. I saw someone doing braids...charged by the braid. I think it was something like $5 a braid (small braids so a whole head would have added up to quite a lot) with one bead, or you could pay extra for more breads. I told my daughter I'd pay up to $20 and she had another $20. She started contemplating it and got in line. The girl gettin her hair done kept saying how this really hurts, and had tears in her eyes. She was maybe 10 or 12. My daughter quickly decided it wasnt for her and has never asked about it again lol. I used to braid her hair all the time all those little braids with beads. She wont sit for her whole head to be done anymore. I bought one of those things that you divide the hair and hook it in and it spins it into a "braid" but we cant get it to work well. I love the idea of having it done before leaving home so that the hair is easier delt with. I'll have to look into that.

I will ask my daughter who she knows locally. That is a lot of money. We had friends in NY and we would do it before we would go to one of the islands for the convenience, etc. My 15 yr. old knows how to do it, as does her friends.

Maybe I should set her up in business and meet somewhere. LOL

Anyone want to post a picture of what this? I tried again to do my dd's hair last night (it's been a few years and her hair is much longer) I dont feel I have the look right.

Trying the beauty school in your area is a great idea. My daughter has had hers done there several times and all were great some are better and stay in longer but none were bad and 20 with tip is affordable we could never do 160. The last time she had her whole head done to just past her ears and used the little rubberbands she could then either let the rest hang loose or pull it into a pony or pigtails. This lasted a long time and really kept her neat looking while away without a lot of upkeep. She has hair to her lower back and with swimming and all the rides it can get messy looking quickly.
If you do this before Florida just remember all those new parts in the head WILL sunburn and use sunblock!!!

check the activities at Cypress Pointe.

at some places it is listed on the activities.

isn't this the thing that they charged by the inches....

so if your daughter has long hair - it will definitely cost more....

If live any where by me. I would the whole head for 20 bucks. But it would depend on what kind of design she won't in her head. How long it was.

I just got finish braiding some hair just a few minutes ago and it was under 70.00 dollars and that was with extra hair but in.

DDisneyMom,

You live on Long Island, given that I would DEFINITELY get it done before you left. Seems to me any beauty salon could do it but if you want one where they do it more frequently check out some of the more "ethnically diverse" communities ...same applies if you look into a beauty school. Having this done at a resort location in the US is going to cost more.

crazelion - I have some tapes with the Voltron force that I put on DVD..... :thumbsup2

when are you going to WDW again - maybe you can meet up with dddisneymom....
