Hair braiding in Naussau

I just got back from the disney wonder 4 day bahamen cruise.

I got my hair braided at this tent in naussua i highly recomend the ship or the beach anywhere but their i got ripped off. The lady did really rally tight braids that she claimed came out easy it took almost 3 hours to get out and it ripped my hair

When you do get it done on the beach a good way to know your not getting ripped off is some of the ladies have a head with different size braides you can look at. you can talk these women down they are usually 2 dollars a braid. I talked my girl down to one and i could have gone lower i think.

make sure you have someone a parent a friend with you standing to make sure they dont go really rearlly tight if thats not what you ask for like have them yell if its small you wont be able to see it your self.

dont get your whole head done that can get really really expensive and hurt.

It suggests only using "licensed" braiders. It also suggests that $2/braid is the established rate, but I'm not surprised to hear that you can negotiate lower. The established rate for the whole head is $120!

I got my DD's hair braided on the beach at Atlantis when we stay there in Feb. 2000. Since then I have had here hair braided about 5 different times, at hair dresser, Universal Studios Citywalk, and paid a lot of money. I paid less money on the beach in the Bahamas and it was the best hair braiding she ever had done. Yes, the braids were tight, but she was happy with that because they stay in no less than 4 weeks and looked great. It was worth the money I paid, unlike the other times when the braids were out in a week.

We paid $2/braid in Nassau, only to learn that braiding was just $1/braid on Castaway Cay.

That is cheap. Do they do a good job? Do you need an appt. for Castaway Cay or is it first come first serve?
