Hair braiding and headaches

Might be a silly question but I really want to get my DD hair braided when we are down in CC. When you get your hair braided do you usually get major headaches? I have read messages from people that have said that eathier there kids or they themselfs have left them in for atleast 4 weeks. I don't want to waste money if she only has it in for a day.

Yes, it hurts. My DD and I both had our hair braided. She had to take hers out about three days later because it hurt and she could not sleep. I kept mine for about one week after we got home. The headaches continued and sometimes it woke me up at night. Would I do it again? Yes, but only for a short period of time if it were a special occasion. I won't have it done on my next cruise, but then again, I could change my mind. :thewave:

Can you get haribraiding done on the ship, too? or just Castaway Cay?

You can get it done on the shiip, on Castaway Cay, and on shore at any of the ports....well, at least most of them. It is less expensive and less painful to have it done in one of the ports. My daughter had a terrible experience with it on the ship. She had it done twice since onshore and both were good experiences. Hers have lasted a few weeks....not four though.

My DD had it done on the ship. She said it hurt when they were doing it, but not after. She didn't have headaches. Hers were in for probably 3-4 weeks, and we took them out because they were pretty fuzzy.

If you're worried about it, I'd try pulling your hair back into tight pony tails for a couple of hours at home. Just get the clear rubber bands at Wal Mart, and pull back sections about 1/8 of an inch wide, and wrap the bands tightly around at about 1/4 inch intervals back to the crown. If it bothers you, then the braids will probably bother you.

Cost for corn rows are $2 per braid, regular braids are $1 per braid, and I"ve heard long hair is an extra 50 cents (wow, I just learned something new. My keyboard doesn't have a cents key!).

This price is the same on CC or the ship.
