Hair Beading Question

My DD would like to have a beaded strand put into her hair while we are at WDW. I know I've seen this before but I can't remember where it was. My neighbor told me that this is done at the Boardwalk. Do any of the other resorts (specifically WL) have anyone who does this, or is there a place in the parks to have it done? Thanks to anyone who knows the answer!

I have general seen the hair wrapping at all resorts - usually by the pool or in the main indoor area if its not good weather.

Also the water parks have the stations.

I have not seen then hair wrapping stations in the parks.

I agree with Traveliz, I have seen at all our resort stays.

Another option, while at AKL, my DD bought a pre-braided strand that had a small clip at the end. Just attach it under your hair and clip is invisible. She can wear and remove whenever she wants to and still has it 2.5 years later. (and it was alittle bit less - WDW prices on this were higher than most places we have had it done).

They do it in the Animal Kingdom, I think it was by the safari. Be careful, my two older daughters had them done when they were 4 and 6, took the wrap and would spin it like a helicoptor blade constantly and the 4 yo's finally broke off! :rotfl: It was o.k., but she had one little piece of hair that stuck up like 6 weeks :earseek: .

The one at the poly is by the boat launch. It costs 1.00/inch and then you have to pay for the beads. Will they let you bring beads from last year back and put in?

Two suggestions:

1. I saw an option by the Wilderness Lodge pool that doesn't seem to be available elsewhere: they have pre-made "braids" that can be clipped on to a tiny braid. The benefit is that you can remove the braid for hair-washing, and it'll last much longer. The cost was about the same as a hair braid.

2. I bought a Kluttz activity package for about $2 that included string, beads, and instructions. The hair wraps were actually very easy, and they stayed in more than a week. Try it yourself! You might save big!

They had a stand at downtown disney last time we were there. My dd had it done and I thought it was very expensive. Her hair was about an inch below her ears. Cost around 30 dollars. I saw the clips and passed them by. I would go for the clips next time. That being said it did last about six weeks in her hair. She got a hair wrap machine for her birthday and it works ok. Cost of that about 20 dollars.

Do they have hair wrap stations @ pop century?? If not I think I will try to hit the one at MK. Sorry if I missed it but how long do the wraps stay in usually?? How do you wash hair with them in?? I have been considering the bib/bob boutique, but that seems like an awful lot of money for something that will be ruined the first time she finds a water spot, and will be ruined that night anyway, or maybe I am just being a cheapie :confused3

Does anyone have pics of kids with their hair wrapped they could share??

Thanks in advance!

Sorry this is for my 6 year old daughter

How many wraps do you get for 80 bucks???? Only 2???
I ask because my daughters hair is very long and I know she will want to do it.

I did not have this done at disney last year. I had it done at sesame place. It lasted most of the summer. They did it a little different there and you didnt have to have beads so I just had her hair wrapped since she was only 3. I was worried about the beads that she would try and dislodge them and swallow them when i wasnt looking. I am thinking of getting her hair done again this year but at Disney.

done ever time we go to Disney. The WL one is by the pool. The last time we went (in Nov.) she got it done in AK. I don't usually like doing it at the parks because it take about 30mins and we don't like to use that much park time just waiting. My DD hair is just above her waist and it cost $39 with the beads. This one didn't last as long as previous ones. We had one that was still in 7 months later. Usually we get about 5 months out of it. I just wash her hair as I usually do.

:cheer2: She just loves the hairwraps.

Our girls have had these done a few times. We usually have them done at Universal and they have said we could take the beads back and reuse them.
Last time we had them done in Citywalk area and I was not very happy as one of them only lasted 12 days. It was a young man who was learning and obviously needed some more practice as he hadn't used enough hair and it broke off.
They usually last for months. I always have them underneath the hair about the ear area rather than on the top of the head as it is not soo noticeable when they break away. You are not left with a clump of hair sticking up much shorter.
One year they had them done at Old Town which was much cheaper however the beads were more plastic and cheap looking.
decided not to get them done this year they are going to have some braids done instead!
Although I have had friends who said the braids were soo tight they gave them a headache.
Decisions ,decisions perhaps I will get them just to wear a hat 24/7.
