Had to share....just got a new camera!

Had to bump this thread.....my bday was last week, and DH surprised me with the SX10 IS!!! I've been using my S3 IS, so the learning curve isn't too steep, but boy, am I lovin' the 20X zoom!!

The viewfinder is much brighter and clearer than my S3! So far, I think I'll like using the dial to set the shutter, aperture and exposure compensation. I really need to play with it some more, but I'll be posting some photos soon!

I know that I'm heading for a dSLR, but with 1 kid in college, 2nd one going in 2010, layoffs at work, etc., etc., this camera is about as close as you can get without spending lots of $$ for a dSLR.

Isn't the zoom awesome! I am in absolute LOVE with this camera!!!

C'mon people....post some photos taken with the Canon SX10 IS! I'm dying to get one (and I have a big birthday coming up), but every time I'm ready to take the plunge, there are rumors of more layoffs at work, or my DS breaks his leg and we need $$ to pay the deductible and out-of-pocket....
