Had to change our trip because of Katrina. Are we going to have problems?

Originally we were going to WDW Sept 29-Oct 8. Because of circumstances surrounding Katrina (Ds doesn't go back to school until Sept 19, Dh works in the food service industry in an area that took a hard hit--he's getting food to FEMA workers, caterers, plus his regular accounts) we've have to change our trip dates. The only dates that we can go are Nov 25-Dec 3. I know that it's a really busy time. We will be at Portifino Bay the 25th and 26th, so we'll have FOTL access there. We'll be checking in at OKW on the 27th and aren't planning on doing a park that day. I know Thanksgiving weekend will be busy, but what about the week after? Will the parks still be really crowded? Will I have trouble with ADRs? TIA-Dana

Other people will let you know as well but I think starting the Monday after Thanksgiving it should be a great time to be there.

Enjoy....how bad can a day at Disney World really be????

I don't know how bad it will be (crowded wise) but I do know Pop Warner will be there the first week of December so there may not be a big difference between Thanksgiving week and the first week. Although from what other posters have said, they didn't notice them a whole lot at the parks just at the resorts. Some parks also close early to the public in the afternoon/evening so that the Pop Warner kids can have there events and park time. Good luck and have fun!

Pop Warner week doesn't start until the 4th. We'll be there the 27th - 3rd and are hoping for smaller crowds. We've been that week before and had a wonderful trip. You will, too!

Thanks! I called today and got all of my ADRs that I had made for the first trip! No problems at all. The CM I spoke with said that we were coming at a great time.
I wasn't worried about Pop Warner. We typically go the 2nd week of December and we always have to deal with them. (Which is really no problem. We've really never noticed them too much in the parks, and the only time we've noticed them at our resort was when we stayed at POR)

Thanks for your help. I know we'll have a great trip!

I agree you're going at a great time. In 2003 we went almost the exact same dates- we went Nov 23rd-Dec 2nd and it really is less busy after the weekend of Thanksgiving. :)
