My twins, B/G Matt & Megan are in the same science class this year. They are in the 8th grade & this is the first class they've been in together since they've been in middle school.
On Friday they brought home their progress reports and DS had a C- and DD had a B in science. My DS said "It must be a mistake!", "our teacher must have us confused"....DH & I kinda said "Yeah right...suuure she has you confused...you & your sister are impossible to tell apart....." It seemed awfully farfetched and DD was sure the B was hers.
Well, it turns out he was right! The teacher called last night to say that when he asked her about it, she looked into it & every grade he got went to his sister and he got hers.

She was very apologetic and said she would apologize to the kids today.
Poor Matt, DH & I felt awful for not believing him, but it just didn't seem likely.
My DD is not too happy either because now we're talking to her about the low grade.;)

Oh wow!!!:D :D :D :D

Do they have the same initial for their first name? That is the only way I can figure out that the teacher made a mistake like that!!

Good for your son for sticking to his guns! And tell your DD that these are only interims - she has 4.5 weeks left to raise that grade up!!

Poor DD! She probably thought she was going to get off scott-free on the C-.

Oh well! Time for her to hit the books.

Reminds me of my DSs HS years. If they missed a class, we got an automatic recorded call from the Attendance Office, saying "your child has missed one or more classes today" - we always told them to take care of it. That was one policing job that I wouldn't handle (& I always called if they were home sick!)

I had that happen to me in HS. I got a report card with an 82 for the class in which I should have had a 98. The teacher screwed up between me and another girl in the class because our last names were distantly similar. It was corrected when I brought the mistake to the teacher's attention.

When we had cell service from Cellular One, whenever my DH would apply for credit, be it in Ikea, or Sears, etc., usually for the discount that they give for new card holders, he'd be denied due to a charge off on his credit report. There was another Cellular One customer with a SSN that was 1-digit off from my DH's and that person was the charge off. It happened over and over again: when they'd fix it, the next month it would show again. This happened for about 6 months. Each month that the error occurred, we got a $50 credit on our bill.

Maybe Matt should ask for financial remuneration from his teacher. :smooth:
