I've had my hands a little full and been lurking instead of posting for awhile. I just had my youngest daughter on June 26th and have a WDW trip booked for October (just paid my balances and picked my airline seats today - YAY!) my question is in regard to her passport.....

On my way home from the hospital I stopped and registered her birth at my local office, they said it takes 16 weeks to register but I paid for a travel letter so I have something saying it is being processed. I just applied and paid for her birth certificate online now (through serviceontario) and am wondering if I should wait until September and see if it shows up and then go do the 2 week thing at the passport office and go in person (it is an hour's drive for me each way with 4 kids so I am not anxious to do it) or do you think I should try to go now and see if they will give me the passport based on the letters I have stating I have applied for both documents? Hubby, myself and all 3 of our other childern have passports valid until March 2008 so it's just the baby that concerns me.

Thanks!

Just wanted to say congratulations on your new little one...and crash your thread! We're in the same boat...Caeden arrives on July 25th via c-section and we are booked on a DCL cruise Jan 27, 2008. Disney needs our passport numbers by the final payment in November, so I'm pushing the time limits for getting this one's passport too. I'll be interested in the replies and your success in getting it, so please post!!

Sorry I have no useful info.

Just wanted to say Congrats to both of you

Also connorsmom911 I think we're going to be on the same cruise

We are supposed to sail on October 7th with DCL. DS was born in December and I filled for BC right away. Once Service oNatrio actually gets the stuff form you municaplaity the Proveinceal part was surpisingly fast.

Sent for passport 4 weeks ago.

Just wanted to echo the CONGRATULATIONS to you all! (One of four girls in our family, too. ;) )

I have to say after the registration went through I had the birthcertificate within a few days (I did it online) so that is definitely speeding up. You could always call the passport office (yeah that might take a while....) and see if you could even apply without the birth certificate.

Definitely wait for the birth certificate, if you can. Otherwise, they will only issue a temporary passport for your child (usually good for a year), and you'll have to go back to get it extended anyway once you get the birth certificate.

Congratulations on your new daughter!

Heather

Hey jenkh, unfortunately no, you guys are going on the 7 day western, we're just on the 4 day bahamas. Too bad, but check over on the cruise boards, there is probably a dismeet thread for your cruise...there is for ours already.

Enjoy!!

If I wait for the BC (sorry NAK) how long do I wait? We leave Oct 20th so if I wait until Oct 1st to go to the passport office could they do it in time?

Here's my new sweetie so you all can see.....

contact your local MP to see if they can fast track the birth certificate. My MP was able to get ours faster ...we were crossing to US within a few weeks of DD's (now 2) birth. We didn't require passport at the time so I am not sure if the documentation you have is enough but your MP should be able to answer that question as well.....They are there to help us if they can so use their services.

congratulations and good luck with your family... 4 kids, I can't even imagine!:upsidedow .

Just wanted to send Congrats to you and your family. She is really a cute little girl. My dd (Bizzibee) is due on my birthday in Jan. We are really excited.

Thanks!!

I hadn't even thought of my MP and that is a great idea, I am going to call first thing Monday!

Tigercat - Congrats!!! My 2nd daughter is a January baby and I LOVE that!! I get to keep her home an entire year extra before JK starts for her :) (I have attachment issues)and she was big enough by her 1st summer that we had a great time at Mommy & Me swim class!

We have a lot of birthdays at this time. Bizzibees is Dec. 31, her dh's on the 6th, mine on the 10th. They also dh's sister's birthday. At least we can have one big party for all LOL.

Just got my son's passport today. He was born in December, it took 3 months for the Birth Cert and then another 2 for passport.
