I've been dreading going since my speeding ticket 2 months ago (I was doing 56 in a 50 mph).

Anyway, the room was filled with somewhat normal people, but lo and behold, who should sit right next to me, but a very odd woman. The classroom was set up in long tables with chairs only on one side, all facing the front. This woman was the last one to enter the room, and she made a beeline for the seat next to me. Of course, before she sat down she took a big can of lysol from her purse and started spraying the chair and table. Then she took some antibacterial wipes and started wiping down her chair and the table in front of her. After that, she pulled some crystals on black cords out of her purse and lined them up on the table in front of her. Finally, she started chanting something, then sat down.

She was very quiet through most of the class until the break. When the instructor told us we had 10 minutes she gathered up all her stuff and ran out of the room. She came back 10 minutes later and stated the ritual with the spray and wipes again. But this time she sprayed so much I started coughing and choking, as did the man on the other side of her. She gave us both dirty looks and told us that the Lord would punish us for that.

About an hour later, she stood up and asked the instructor if he was almost finished. He said, no, it's a 4-hour class and he had to keep us there 4 hours. She told him that she couldn't spare that much time, so she started walking out. He told her that if she left he would have to communicate to the court that she didn't fulfill the class requirements. She asked him "What court?". He said "traffic court". She said "I have done nothing wrong, I don't even own a car". By this time everyone is going "Huh??". She ended up walking out and that was the last we saw of her. I wonder if she was even supposed to be there in the first place.

I'm sorry - but that story cracked me up!!!!:D :p

I think I would have replied to her that you were being punished - by having to sit next to her!!!;)

Would love to know why she showed up there in the first place!

That's just too funny. My DH's best friend is a magnet for these types of people. Once, when we were visiting him when he lived outside of Chicago, his fiance and I went into an ice cream store and the guys stayed out in the car. The man sitting in the car next to them was talking to himself, so Mike decided to have some fun with him. The guy wound up telling him that he was leaving the next day for the Bahamas to start a new job. His wife and daughter didn't know he was leaving. He was waiting for them to come out of the ice cream shop, too. When we came out to the car, they wouldn't pull away from the parking spot. They told us to listen to what this guy was saying. They also wanted to see what the wife looked like.

The guy was just plain crazy with all the ranting and raving. A few days later, we saw him in a grocery store, again with his wife and daughter. So much for the Bahamas, I guess.

You know, Jill, the Lord is going to get you for making fun of this poor lady.:p ;) :p

4-hours for 6 MPH? Yikes!

OMG....how hilarious!!!!!

I went to traffic school once and only once (due to a minor accident I had caused by a cop none the less) and it was amazing the amount of 20somethings that were there and arguing that ensued on some subjects - like passing people on the right hand side when they are waiting to make a left hand turn and then right hand turn people getting over to the shoulder to make their turn so that the people could keep moving on the road. YES - that was IN the actual class. The "instructor" was telling them that is against the law as they are crossing the solid white line and they kept telling him..."but it is country courtesy"!!! I started laughing!

Jill your such a speedster:teeth: Honestly guess he was trying to meet his quota.
As for the rest of the story Im speechless, its just so odd. I think I would have changed seats, she sounds scary.

OMG Jill, I am still giggling to myself over this.

I wonder where she thought she was supposed to be????

LOL!! Oh my! I too, wonder where she thought she was and why she waited so long before she said something.

You have the most bizarre things occur on your outings! I enjoy reading about them!:p

She was probably supposed to be in the obsessive/compulsive class.

Lisa! :teeth:

That is just too darn odd and too darn funny! :teeth:

I'm a magnet for people like that too! :o :p Sometimes the situations are sweet and heart warming :), other times they're just plain weird and scary!

Jill, you probably have a friendly face and that's why the woman wanted to sit next to you!;) :D

I must say that's a really bizarre story, though.

Whoa!!!

Geeezzeee. . . I hope she made back in time to catch her spaceship home. . . .
