had a really bad day !

I was just about to hop into the shower this morning when both DD's started screaming downstairs. I got down as fast I could - still screaming...DD6 was sat on the chair with dd11 frantic with fear, stood over her asking her if her leg was broken I quickly checked her over and calmed them down to see the extent of the incident.

dd6 had opened the door to the corner unit to get something out as she stood up she leaned in the door for support and tipped the whole of the 3 open shelving ornaments on her. one of my disney snowglobes had landed on her head, glass and glitter everywhere. Fortunatley she has sustained a nasty bump to the head, but it could have been a lot worse.

Most of my ornaments - mostly disney stuff and some lladro were broken. I got them both calmed down, showered and sorted before I had a good cry mostly from the shock of it all. Had to clean up all of the glass etc before going to work which was also horrible.

so all in all it's been a miserable day.

Sounds like the hassle of an insurance claim is coming your way too - you sound like you coped very well, if I'd had broken my Mum's lladro when I was a little girl she would have flipped

So glad your DD is ok and hope that you have got over the shock of what happened sending you Hugs to help.

We have alway fixed our units to the wall with a small metal L shaped bracket.
Most units do come with a small pieces of chain to sercure between wall & unit, but for added sercurity and a better hold the wall bracket is the better option for us.
