We came home last week from a great trip to WDW. Stayed 2 nights at CB before heading to our DVC room at the Wilderness Lodge and we were so pleasantly surpised by CB... I didn't want to leave!
We had adjoining rooms in Martinique #25, a preferred location with a beautiful view of a sandy beach and the lake. It was wonderful! My parents flew down and as they arrived a few minutes ahead of my family, they checked us in. My Mom has a hard time getting around due to arthritis and uses a cane or walker. I believe the kind CM who checked her in graciously assigned her to a convenient room. As we were only staying 2 nights I had made no requests other than ground floor and non-smoking. We were so thrilled with the location of the room. There is nothing like an upgrade to start a trip off right!
The room was colorful and very clean. Everything in both rooms was in perfect order. The housekeeping was great and my children saw lots of towel critters in other windows. I left the housekeeper a tip the first day and a note asking for critters if she had time. When we got back to the room we found a little washcloth duck and bunny. My children were mightily impressed
The grounds were beautiful. It is winter back home so the place seemed like a paradise. The kids enjoyed the main pool and the quiet pool in our village. I appreciated that the main pool had towels so you didn't have to lug your own.
The food court and shopping area are obviously new. The shopping was great and the food court adequate. It was mayhem at breakfast time and if we stayed longer we would definitely get supplies and eat in the room. The new fridges are a great addition, and I was so impressed that they were not just plopped in the room. Instead they are in a funky little cabinet that fits the theme of the room. You wouldn't even know the fridge was in there if you didn't look for it.
The curtain that separates the bath area from the rest of the room is super. ALL the Moderates should have these! It made the room so much more usable with 4 people sharing the space. When the curtain is drawn there is a nice "dressing area" behind it without scrunching into the small bathroom to change.
We rented a pontoon boat and enjoyed a cruise on the lake. All the Cast Members we met were helpful and friendly. The kids enjoyed the beach and at night we could see the top of the Illuminations fireworks out over the end of the lake. We really felt CB was a lovely surprise and a good value. We'll definitely go back.
