this is my first time writing... HI! I have been reading the boards for about a week after i booked my Dec trip. This will be the first time back since 2000. nThe first time with my 3 year old...so excited!!! We were lucky to get the last room avail through southwest at WL for Dec 3 -7. Anyway... reading about the codes inspired me to check if i had one...I did and it was for the time of my trip. But they said I couldnt use it because there was nothing avail. They knew I had booked my hotel room through the airline and was willing to cancel if it was worth it. When I asked what the code was for she said she didnt know but that I had it for a while and would expire in Aug and to keep checking to see if anything opened up. HUH? Help me understand please!!!!

Only a certain number of rooms at each resort can be booked with a particular code. So the one that Southwest had at their rate to book is not the same room as Disney can give you with one of their codes.

Definitely keep calling back - many people book hoping they can swing the trip but something comes up and they have to cancel.

the code i had was form disney not the airlines. I told disney that i would cancel through the airlines and rebook throu disney. I just dont know if it was for a room or a dining plan or etc.. is there any way they could tell?

This pretty much covers what was already posted, but there are only a set number of rooms and views at various resorts per code. And there are LOTS of codes out there. As an example if you were wanting a particular room type or resort, or even a value, those may be booked up for what the code you have allows.
Sometimes if something opens up that inventory will become available for that code again. Sometimes not, just judging by what I read here.
You can keep checking back, or be more flexible about what is available and see what you can get with your code.
If you have a room through SW, and cancel that does not mean that inventory is available to book through Disney.
You could even ask the Disney CM what package options/alternatives are available with the code you have and see what is offered.
Don't be afraid to ask what other deals they can offer you. The worse they can say is none.

Good luck! :wizard:
