Had a Bad Day - July 7 to July 20 2006

;) I'm along with everyone else...........waiting for more!
Have you ever thought about writing a book?
You're very good. :thumbsup2
Love it!

Sorry it's been so long, everybody! I'm suprised none of you have hunted me down yet! Thank god none of you know where I live! However, Mom has been harassing me to post, so she could probably be persuaded to give up my location. Anyway, onto the trip!

Our new hotel has no breakfast (booo!), so we'll be eating every meal out now. This morning we ate at Ponderosa. Guess what? It was a buffet! Don't tell me you didn't see that one coming!:rotfl2:

After breakfast, it was off to Animal Kingdom. First up was Kali River, then we decided to go try and catch the Festival of the Lion King. However, on the way we found some characters! We got to meet Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger. Anyway, we ended up missing the first part of the Lion King. Guess we'll have to wait until the next trip for that... Then, well, it was actually time for lunch. What an exciting day this will be for you guys to read! *lol*

Lunch is at Pizzafari. I think this is actually where I had my truamatic dining experience. Whoa, let me back up and do a side note...

*~* At Disney, we did all counter service meals. We quickly worked out a system. Mom and Darrin would find out what we wanted , then go get in line to order. Then, Sister, The Boy and I would head off to find a table. Now, if you ever want to see people act like a bunch of scurvy, no-good pirates, eat at a Disney counter service resturant!pirate:

It's hard enough even to find a table to begin with, and then you have the young couples. You knw who I mean, just the two of them staring loving at each other AND TAKING UP A TABLE BIG ENOUGH FOR FIVE!!!! Ahhhh!!!! However, our little crew became real good at comandeering tables, and could steal your table right out from under your tray without you even noticing! pirate: Pirates! Anyway, back to our system.

We three would head off in search of a table. We would spread out, staying within sight of each other, however. When one of us found a table, we would throw our fanny pack on it, all but lay across the table top and flail wildly for the other two meambers of our table pirating crew.

Then, Sister and The Boy would stay there, and I would head off to tell Mom and Darrin where we were, and collect napkins, straws, condiements and the sort. Usually we would all end up crammed into a tiny table.

Actually, the best table trick was to find a big table with either no chairs, or one or two. Sister and The Boy would guard it, while I went around to people who had extra chairs at their table, and asked them if I could have them. They always obliged.*~*

Anyway, today we lucked out. I found a big table, with wnought chairs! I was quite pleased about this. I stood back to the table, leaning on it, and flagged Sister and The Boy.

My elation did not last long, however.

Once I caught the ateention of the other two, I unsnapped my fanny-pack and turned to set it on the table. To my suprise, there was a woman at my table, spreading all her stuff over the top.
"I had this table," I said.
"You weren't sitting here," she replied with a nasty grin, as she made herself comfortable. :sad2: I just shook my head and stormed off. I wasn't going to fight with some woman in front of a bunch of kids. What I really felt like doing was swiping all her stuff onto her floor, tipping her out of her chair, flopping down on it and saying "I'M SITTING NOW!!!!" :lmao: However, that would of been very un-disneyish.:wizard:

Needless to say, I eventually found a table.

After lunch, we did Kali River again, then it was Everest. My last ride on Everest! *sob* Then, we headed out. Wow...we actually didn't do a whole lot today.

So, we decided to head back to the hotel, but Mom had another suprise...Beaches and Cream!!! I saw a picture of the No Way Jose sundae on the food thread before we had left, and Sister and I had been dreaming about having one for months, and we finally got to do it! We shared it, and even managed to finish it off. It was so good, but I felt so sick after. It was way too hot for that much ice cream! Oh, The Boy, Mom and Darrin split a Milky Way sundae, which was just as big as ours.

Then, we headed back to the hotel for a swim, and to try to work off some of that sundae, I guess. When we were walking up to our hotel, I see something that horrifies me. The giant mutant grasshopper has follwed me to our room! :scared1: It appears that somebody had stepped on it, since it had legs missing. The most terrifying thing, however, was the fact that it was trying to eat a gecko! Arg! It's a meat eater!!! Anyway, after that scaring incident, we went for our swim, while Mom and Darrin did laundry.

After our swim, we headed out to find a place to have supper. Across from our old hotel, we find an A&W drive-in! The whole time we were at the other hotel we had never noticed it! Now, I don't know if an A&W drive-in is a big deal in the States, but we don't have them around here anymore. My parents had talked about them from when they were young, and I had always wanted to go one! The Boy and Sister got milkshakes with supper, and even just looking at them made me want to vomit! How could they even *THINK* about ice cream after those huge sundaes?? Blah!

While we are eating supper, I start trying to persuade Mom and Darrin that we should go to mini golf. I am a mini golf fanatic! I love it. However, Darrin's reasponse everytime I had mentioned it was "Come all the way to Disney to play godd**n mini golf!" However, we had nothing else planned for the evening, so Mom worked on him too and we got our way. I wanted to do pirate mini golf, but we couldn't find it, so we did Congo River Mini Golf instead.

Congo River was awesome. You had the choice of 2 different courses, and it was all decorated very well. There was also a scavenger hunt to do while golfing, and if you found everything, you got a prize at the end. Anyway, part way through the course, it starts to drizzle. Then rain. Then pour. Then full out major storm! We got almost to the last hole when they asked everyone to please leave the course. They also gave us a rain check, good for up to a year so we could come back and play.

That was about it for the day. We drove back to the hotel in the storm, then watched TV for a bit. Then went to bed. Tomorrow is our last day *sob* We'll be spending it at Magic Kingdom of course!:wizard:

Yippie! You're back. Isn't amazing the way you can spend all day at AK and do nothing. That happens to us all the time!

I know! We were there for quite awhile, and did pretty much nothing! I'll have pictures from the 18th up tomorrow hopefully.

I am caught up now. The pics are great and the writing is funny, this is over all a great trip report, I felt your anger when it came to the whole table thing at AK, I would have sat down at the table with her and just been extremely annoying until she got up and left, maybe even do somthing completely gross like use a straw to clean my ears. I guess you just have more class than I do. lol.

Great pictures. I think the bug is really beautiful...but I guess I wouldn't want it rooming with me!:lmao:

Ahhh! You think it's beautiful? I was more so thinking it was going to eat me in my sleep!!!

:sad1: *sob* this is our last day at Disney! I don’t even want to write it!!!

When Darrin woke up around 6, turned to Mom and said:
“I hate the thought of going back to Disney today.”
Mom didn’t even respond. She said later to me that it didn’t matter, because we were going to MK that day no matter what. I’m quite surprised that she didn’t beat him to death right there! :lmao:

Breakfast this morning was at Denny’s. It was really good, and The Boy had this really neat pancake that looked like an alien. After breakfast, it was off to Magic Kingdom!

First up was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which was actually the first ride we did at Disney back on the 9th! Next was Philharmagic, which was awesome! I think The Boy even kept his 3D glasses on the whole time!:3dglasses

Next was the Tea Cups. I forgot to mention that after losing her first magical bucket hat, Mom borrowed one of Sister’s. Which she forgot on the Tea Cups! :scared: *gasp* After the Tea Cups, we split up for a bit. Mom headed off to Pirates of the Caribbean to get Fast Passes (I know what you’re thinking, and I’m getting to that) and we would all meet up back at Splash Mountain.

This is where I realize that I really do not know what we would do without Mom! I head off with Darrin, The Boy and Sister. Well, let me tell you, that was an experience! *I* knew where we were going. However, Darrin decided that I didn’t, and we ended up very lost. :sad2: By the time we made it to Splash Mountain, Mom was already there!

As we come up to Mom, she has this weird look on her face.
“Pirates does not have Fast Passes.” She says
“Oh bugger, I forgot. You a walked over there for nothing then,” I reply.
“Not quite.”
I stare at her for a moment. What could she mean? Then, it hits me.:scared1:
“No,” I say.
“Sorry.”
“No!!!”
“I got pictures! I didn’t know he would be there! But, I got pictures!”
“PICTURES DON’T HELP!!!!” :furious: (By this point I’m screaming) “You saw Captain Jack! You send me off with them and you got to see CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW!!!!”:furious:
At this point, Mom pulls out the camera, still saying she was sorry (I would also like to comment that I was not mad at *MOM*, I was just upset that I hadn’t saw the Captain pirate: ) and shows me her pictures. Mom, being the wonderful Mom she is, has managed to push her way to the front of the crowd at the Pirate Tutorial, blocking the view of small children, to get close up pictures of the Captain for her daughter. What a great mom!

After that, it was Splash Mountain, which I think may be one of my favorite rides. Then it was Pirates of the Caribbean. I needed my Captain fix! pirate: I was hoping Captain Jack may still be around, but no dice. Then we did Cinderellabration. Well, Mom, Sister and I did. Darrin and The Boy had no interest, so they went to get Fast Passes for Space Mountain. Now, Mom swears she thought they only went to the back of the crowd. I think, in reality, she was so caught up in the princesses that she had no idea where they went! I’m actually shocked we saw either one of them again!

After Cinderellabration, it was lunch at Casey’s Corner, which was very good. I have never had a better hot dog in my life! After lunch, we head off to Tomorrowland. On the way there, Mom springs another surprise. We walk by a Photo Pass man, and she asks if he can take our picture with Tinkerbell! :tink: *faint* I was so happy we got to this! The man sprinkled pixie dust on our hands, and we got our picture done with Tink! :tinker:

Next up was Tomorrowland Transit. *sigh* this was another one of Darrin’s ideas. However, we obliged. Although, at this point I did discover that pixie dust really burns if you get it in your eyes! Next was the Indy Speedway, which was fun, but really not very exciting.

Then it was Space Mountain. I had a nice relaxing browse through the gift shop while the rest of them rode it. Then we went over and did Barnstormer, and took a tour through Mickey and Minnie’s houses. Then it started to rain a bit (no big surprise!), so we hopped on the train and rode it up to the front. We picked up our Tink pics, and then did some more shopping at the Emporium.

Then, just for a change, we decided to take the ferry back over to the parking lot. I am quite pleased we took the ferry, because it offered a great view of the castle as we left. We were all standing up against the railing of the boat when Mom notices that The Boy has his head down, wiping at his eyes. That’s when we realized he was crying because we were leaving. Then Mom started tearing up too. That did it for me. I started tearing up, so I moved a little way from the rest of them to try and keep from crying. Sister came over to see what was up, and I told her The Boy was crying. I think she started tearing up too. Then they started playing “A Whole New World” from Little Mermaid, which hit me quite hard at that particular moment.

When we got back in the car, the Green Day song “Time of Your Life” was playing, which was just too perfect. That song, at that moment…pure Disney Magic.

We headed out and swung by Taco Bell to grab something more me, and then we went and ate in at Burger King. At this point, we managed to con Darrin into going back to Congo River Mini Golf. We did the opposite course of the one we had done the night before. At the end, we got Mardi Gras beads for finding everything on the scavenger hunt. We also fed their baby gators.

Then, it was back to the hotel to pack everything and go to bed. I can’t believe that was our last day. It all went by so fast… However, I still have our trip home to post, and a bit of a post trip report to do.

We thought that you forgot about all of us out here waiting.....

THREE days till WDW! (sorry just had to brag....;) )

Glad I checked back...Another Post!!!! YAY!!!!

I would have been a little upset at Mom too for missing Cap'n Jack! But, at least she took pics for you! Do we get pictures?!? pirate: Please?!? pirate:

Sorry the last day arrived so fast. Can't wait to hear about the rest of the trip! :)

OK I admit. When I read the end of your report I teared up too!:sad1: Thanks for sharing your vacation with us! Ummm where are the picks of Capn Jack?

I tear up when I think about the day we left. It almost seemed like it was all a dream...Captain Jack pics will be up shortly. Where is my mother anyway!?!?! Why hasn't she posted yet?

Don't panic I'm here. I hate the thought of the last day too. I think that's why I feel so yucky now. I'm just depressed that we aren't going back this year. I miss Disney:sad: I was quite surprised by how The Boy reacted though. He said he was homesick earlier in the trip although he now denies that too. He is off to the movies with Brad today. I got something wonderful in the mail today. It's a surprise for Pirate's Fan.:ssst: Don't tell her.

I love it! (Don't forget to take it off and wash it every few days):goodvibes
