We are possibley looking at OKW for our trip next August. I know the layout is very big. We will be getting a roll in shower room. Are those rooms more towards the main house or are they spread out the resort?

I don't know the answer to this but I do know that very few of the buildings have elevators. Only 3 or 6 of them. So if you are not in one of those buildings which I believe are NOT near HH then you will be on the ground floor if you can't use stairs.

I can't speak for OKW specifically, but Disney does spread HA rooms throughout resorts -- generally in all buildings and floors, preferred, non-preferred, waterview, parking lot view, etc. PP is correct that few buildings at OKW have elevators, so presumably the roll-in showers are either first floor at any building or 2nd floor only in those with an elevator.

Enjoy your vacation!

The accessible rooms with roll in showers are scattered all over the resort and are on first floor.
Only buildings 62, 63 and 64 have elevators.

This thread has a list of the buildings with accessible villas. There is also a map with those marked in one of the posts.

I know that building 42, way down by the Turtle Pond pool, has a HA unit on the first floor. I forget the size, however. Somewhere I remember a map showing which buildings had HA units.

We stayed in a HA room at OKW last May, in the Turtle Pond area - room 3411. I made a video showing what it looked like. You can watch the youtube video here if you want to see it:

The HA rooms are spread out throughout the resort. Our room was right across from the bus stop, so it really was an ideal location for us.

Here is a map showing the locations of the different types of rooms at OKW (including HA rooms):

We loved our unit! I was worried about the roll in shower causing problems with water leaving the shower & going onto the bathroom floor, but we had zero issues with this in our unit.

I hope you have a great trip & enjoy OKW. We're DVC owners there & just love it.

The rooms with roll in showers should have shower curtains that look too long - they should be dragging on the floor. There should be both a plastic one and a fabric one.

If the curtain doesn't touch the floor, you will have water splashing out - in that case, you got a regular shower curtain, not one for a roll in shower.
